2012 Williamsport All Star Teams
Divisions
The Shippensburg Little League is offering all levels of play for both baseball and softball the 2010 season. For Baseball, the divisions are:
Minor League (ages 7-12)
Major League (ages 9-12)
Junior League (ages 13-14)
Senior League (ages 15-16)
For Softball, the divisions are:
Minor League (ages 7-12)
Major League (ages 9-12)
Junior/Senior League (ages 13-16)
The Minor and Major League age ranges appear to be a departure from past years, but are in conformity to Little League International guidelines. All players aged 9-12 who have not previously played at the Major Level are expected to tryout. From tryouts and last year's roster the draft will occur. Not every player who tries out will make the Major League level. This age system ensures that managers will see the talent that is developing at the Minor level in the event of a call-up. This year, all 7 year olds will try out for the minors and must have at least 1 year experience in T-Ball. Junior and Senior level baseball and Jr./Senior level softball are being offered and interest will determine the make up of the league schedules. There will be inter-league play within these divisions to ensure a more interesting season. Interleague play in the softball's Major league can be expected as well. The tournament all-star teams will continue to be determined based on age per guidelines set by Little League Baseball, Inc.
