2009 !!! HOME RUNS !!! It's Going, It's Going, It's Gone!

Sat. May 16
Jake Hirabayashi (Majors Dodgers) showed the crowd some magic at the plate in the top of the 6th, hammering a pitch and making the ball disappear over the fence for a solo shot closing the gap vs. the Yankees (his 6th home run).
Chris Lung (Minros Rays) led off the bottom of the 3rd, and on a 1-1 offering, put his pedal to the metal and drove one outta there over the monster in left center to break a tie vs. the Tigers. (his 1st home run). 

Wed. May 13
Zak Zlozower (Majors Mets), hit a 3-run, walk-off home run to close out the teams’ Mar. 18 game that was tied and suspended after the 8th vs. the Cardinals (his 3rd home run).Sat.

May 9
Quentin Zales and Matthew Stuart (Majors Yankees) teamed-up to bang a couple of bombs in a long-ball exhibition vs. the Angels (the 1st home run for each).
Bert Gervis (Majors Mets) got to touch ‘em all after he pulverized a 2-1 fastball for a solo blast out of the park leading his team in a comeback attempt vs. the Angels (his 1st home run).  The ball was recovered and enshrined in a salvaged shoe box, and Gavin will cherish this for years to come.

Tue. May 5
Eli Stern (Majors Angels) socked the first pitch he saw and parked it in the park beyond center for a solo home run with 1 out in the bottom of the 6th, advancing his team in a late comeback effort vs. the Dodgers (his 4th home run).

Sat. May 2
Austin Spina (Majors Mets), hit a solo home run vs. the Cardinals (his 1st home run).
Zak Zlozower (Majors Mets), hit a 2-run home run vs. the Cardinals (his 2nd home run).
Luca Ferrari (Majors Angels), broke open a tie game, slicing his first pitch with 1 on in the top of the 5th for an arcing shot to right vs. the Mets (his 3rd home run).
Eli Stern (Majors Angels) played long ball with a 1 out, 2-1 pitch in the top of the 3rd, jacking a circuit clout out over center vs. the Mets (his 3rd home run).
Jimmy Brooks (AAA Cardinals), hit a home run over the center field fence vs. the Angels. (his 1st home run).

Jayson Newman (Majors Yankees), hit 2 home runs vs. the Mets (his 3rd  & 4th home runs).
Nicholas “Nick” Schwartz (Majors Yankees), hit a home run vs. the Mets (his 2nd home run).

Tue. Apr. 28
Michael Mudy (Majors Cardinals), hit a homerun to left-center on the 1st pitch of the inning vs. the Angels (his 1st home run).

Mon. Apr. 27
Maximiliano “Max” Weschler (AA D’Backs), earned a ride on the round-trip express when he crushed a 1 out, 1-0 pitch in the top of the 4th deep over the center field fence on the AAA field for a 3-run home run, cementing a D-Back lead vs. the Royals (his 2nd home run).

Sat. Apr. 25
Luca Ferrari (Majors Angels), with his team down by 1, a runner on and down in the count 0-1 in the bottom of the 6th, entertained and thrilled the fans with one mighty swing, as he erupted for a walk-off 2-run shot to center vs. the Dodgers. (his 2nd home run).
Jean Claude “JC” Kiarash (Minors Giants), lead off the top of the 4th, clobbering the first pitch he saw - an eagerly anticipated fastball - for a thundering solo home run over the left center-field fence vs. the Devil Rays (his 1st home run).  JC is enjoying his home run ball, eagerly signed by all of his teammates and with several actually signing their own names.
Matthew Polis (AA Tigers) advanced to the plate in the top of the 3rd with 2 outs and 1 on, and missing what former President Bush stood for, sent the first pitch delivered to him over the right-center fence awakening T-Ball families and  educationalizing them on what a real home run looks like vs. the Giants (his 1st home run).

Maria Gelabert (Softball Minors Red Vines) hit a home run vs. Granada Hills (her 5th home run)

Jake Hirabayashi (Majors Dodgers) hit a Grand Slam in the 5th vs. the Angels (his 5th home run).
Eli Stern (Majors Angels) hit a home run in the 1st  vs. the Yankees (his 2nd home run).
Will Evans (Majors Mets) hit a solo home run in the top of the 6th vs. the Cardinals (his 2nd home run).
Will Evans (Majors Mets) hit a solo home run in the top of the 4th vs. the Cardinals (his 1st home run).
Fletcher "The Wolf" Wolfgang Hoffman (Majors Cardinals) was not posting any drywall when he plastered a 1-2 pitch in the bottom of the 4th, sending the ball on a graceful, high, arcing journey out past left -center for a 3-run home run vs. the Mets. (his 1st home run).
Maria Gelabert (Softball Minors Red Vines) hit a home run vs. the Canyon Country Wolves (her 4th home run).

Trent Armitage (Minors Reds) lined 1-1 pitch for a solo shot over the left field fence in the top of the 1st  vs. the D’Backs (his 1st home run).

Tue. Apr. 14
Max Mehlbaum (Majors Angels) with one on in the bottom of the 3rd, hit the first pitch he saw for a deep bomb over the right field fence with one on to put his team ahead vs. the Yankees (his 1st home run).
Mya Garcia (Majors Softball Shooting Cyclones) hit a home run vs. the Mission Hills Stingrays (her 1st  home run).

Mon. Apr. 13
Maria Gelabert (Softball Minors Red Vines) hit another home run in a comeback  attempt vs. the Mission Hills Stingrays (her 3rd home run). 

Sat. Apr. 11
Justin Lamedman (AAA Red Sox), broke open a 3-3 ballgame in the top of the 6th, crushing a ball with 1 on deep to left-center vs. the Angels (his 1st home run).

Tue. Apr. 7
Tyler Peterson (Majors Angels) quickly fell back 0-1 when he came to the plate in the top of the 4th and his team down by 1 run, then with one mighty swing sent the next pitch right back and soaring out beyond center field, a solo shot to even up the game vs. the Yankees (his 1st home run).
Michael Geirland (Minors Royals), glanced at his teammate on first and at one weak pitch, then attacked a no out, 1-0 pitch, pulling the ball out beyond left field, well into the parking lot in the top of the 4th vs. the D’Backs (his 1st home run).

Kamari Purcell
(Majors Angels) returned to the plate with 2 outs and 1 on in the bottom of the 4th, pummeling a 1-2 pitch for his second 4-bagger of the day, an enormous drive to center vs. the Cardinals (his 3rd home run).
Eli Stern (Majors Angels) broke open a tied game when he led off the bottom of the 4th, lashing the first hurled orb he saw for a solo frozen rope shot to center vs. the Cardinals, (his 1st home run).
Kamari Purcell (Majors Angels), advanced to the plate with 2 outs and the bases empty in the bottom of the 3rd, stared down the pitcher and then walloped the first offering for a solo home run vs. the Cardinals (his 2nd home run).
Maria Gelabert (Softball Minors Red Vines), smacked a pitch, that would still be rolling if not stopped by the distant Major's field fence, for a 3-run home run, chopping a big deficit and leading her team on a comeback to tie the Canyon Country Wildcats (her 2nd home run)

Wed. Apr. 1
Jake Hirabayashi (Majors Dodgers) hit a home run so huge that it landed two days later in the adjacent soccer fields vs. the Cardinals (his 4th home run). 

Sat. Mar. 28
Jake Hirabayashi (Majors Dodgers) hammered a line drive shot in the first inning to left-center that scattered the soccer players hanging out on the other side of the fence vs. the Angels (his 3rd home run).
Zak Zlozower (Majors Mets), hit a 3-run home run, vs. the Yankees (his 1st home run).

Thu. Mar. 26
Ryan Demarest (Minors Royals), at bat in the top of the 2nd with his Royal pals camped at every corner, blew open a 1-1 duel, uncorking a 1 out, 2-0 pitch for a towering grand slam over the left-center field fence. 1st Home Run in the Minors Division for the 2009 season.
Ivannah Menjivar (Majors Softball Shooting Cyclones) hit a home run vs. San Fernando (her 1st  home run).

 Wed. Mar. 25
Campbell Ford (Majors Mets), hit a home run, vs. the Yankees (his 1st home run).

Tue. Mar. 24
Ryan “Fitz” Fitzgibbons (AAA Red Sox), led his team into an early lead, as he cranked the first pitch he saw with 1 out, 1 on, in the bottom of 1, into the thickening evening sky and out over the left-center field fence  vs. the Angels (his 1st home run)

Sat. Mar. 21Olivia Rigberg (Majors Softball Shooting Cyclones) hit a home run vs. the Canyon Country Grizzlies (her 1st  home run).

 

Sat. Mar. 14Maria Gelabert (Softball Minors Red Vines), hit a home run vs Pacoima. 1st Home Run in a Softball Division for the 2009 season.

Aidan “King” Cole (AAA A’s), was a merry old soul when he forged a quick lead for his team with 2 outs in the top of the 1st, bashing a 1-1 fastball for a towering shot over the left field fence vs. the Dodgers (his 1st home run)

Maximiliano “Max” Weschler (AA D’Backs), absolutely demolished a 2-out, 1-2 pitch, sending the ball on an incredible journey beyond the left-center field fence, a solo home run to tie the game vs. the Royals.  Shards and remnants of the recovered ball were awarded to Max1st Home Run in the AA Division for the 2009 season

Nate “The Nasty” Kimmel (AAA Angels), stepped up to the plate in the top of the 2nd, and went yard opposite over the 170 sign in right field vs. the A’s1st Home Run in the AAA Division for the 2009 season.

Luca Ferrari (Majors Angels) copied his teammate, with another humongous at  bat, ripped one out of the park vs. the Dodgers, and the crowd is still trying to figure out where the ball went (his 1st home run).
Jake Hirabayashi (Majors Dodgers) slammed the ball over the fence with a check-swing vs. the Angels (his 1st home run).
Kamari Purcell (Majors Angels) displayed significant strength when he stepped to the plate for his first at bat of the season and, swinging at the second pitch, hit an enormous homerun deep over the left field fence vs. the Dodgers.  1st Home Run in the Majors Division for the 2009 season.
