For over 50 years, Sherman Oaks Little
League has offered wonderful baseball experiences for boys and girls league age
5-15. Our league area includes Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Valley Village,
Valley Glen, Toluca Lake, and broad segments of North Hollywood and Van Nuys.
In our spring season, we program over 550 athletes, from T-Ball through Juniors and provide a 17-20 game season with playoffs,
uniforms, instruction, umpires and basic equipment. We also have a Girls
Softball program for girls league age 7-12. For our
managers and coaches, our program provides safety clinics, instructional
clinics, rules clinics, and clinics that address sports injuries. We strive to
provide an excellent, competitive baseball program while showing our players
respect and compassion.
In the Fall, SOLL offers a Sunday only baseball
program from Sept.-Nov. This season keeps kids playing and sharpens their
skills for the next Spring season.
Sherman Oaks Little League teams have won
multiple
District 40 TOC and District 40
All Star championships
SOLL Baseball Divisions:
Tee Ball, Minor League, Little League Baseball & Juniors
Tee Ball: For
players league age 5 & 6 who will learn the fundamentals of hitting and
fielding. Players use a tee during games to develop and reinforce the
correct batting swing. Children who are league
age 6 and have played one season of Tee Ball at SOLL may tryout
for the Farm division in the Spring season after first
registering for Tee Ball. If space is available in
the Farm division for league age 6 year olds and you child is moved up, your
registration fee will be adjusted to the Farm-Majors rate.
Minor League: Players of league age 7-12. At SOLL, we divide the Minor League
into 4 divisions: Farm (mostly ages 7 & 8), AA (mostly ages 8 & 9) , AAA (mostly ages 9 & 10) and Minors (mostly ages 10,
11 and some 12yo). Each division may also include some younger and older players
based on skill level and parent awareness.
Our Farm division is machine or coach pitch
while AA and up is player pitch. For the best skills development, we do not
encourage skipping divisions as each offers your child an opportunity to
improve their current skills, develop new ones and build confidence, in age
appropriate environments. The player pitch divisions (AA, AAA and Minors) will
have double eliminations playoffs at the end of the season. The playoff winner from the Minors division will represent SOLL at
the District 40 Tournament of Champions (TOC).(No
playoffs in Tee Ball or Farm)
Little
League Baseball (also known as the Majors
division): At SOLL, this division is for ages 11-12 (based on skill level).
Leagues may enter tournament play for 11-12 year olds in this Little League
baseball division ending in World Series tournaments. The Majors division has
double elimination playoffs at the the end of the
season and the playoff winner will
represent SOLL at the District 40 Tournament of Champions (TOC).
Junior
League: SOLL's Juniors' Program, an extension of
Little League for ages 13-15, bridges the gap between Little League and high
school baseball. It's a smooth continuation of our Little League program and an
extremely valuable transition before reaching the larger dimensions of a high
school baseball field. The Juniors division has double
elimination playoffs at the end of the season and the playoff winner will represent SOLL at the District 40
Tournament of Champions (TOC).
Girls
Softball Division: SOLL's softball division is for girls
league age 7 - 11. Practices are at SOLL and games are played against other
teams in District 40.
