On Saturday August 23rd light poles that were formerly used at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Harrisonburg will be transported to Shenandoah and will be erected in the near future (as funds become available) on the former site of Veterans Memorial Stadium on Junior Avenue. Many volunteers have made this happen which says a lot about the people in our town! Future plans include rebuilding of the original grandstand and fences on Junior Avenue and a new 3 field youth softball/baseball complex in Big Gem Park. Anyone interested in helping parks and recreation dreams in Shenandoah continue to turn into reality should contact Lori Mongold (Town of Shenandoah - Parks and Recreation Director) at 652-8164.
