Girls' Softball in Little League !
Young Ladies of the Sheldon and Harrisburg areas: You're encouraged to come join us for a fun, learning experience with other young ladies in your age group ...
Most leagues are running a Player-Pitch Minors, Majors, and Juniors program for the young ladies of their communities. Player-Pitch Minors are generally ages 8-11; Majors 9-12, Juniors 12-14. Additional options may be available for "Seniors" and Big League Divisions of play which can provide teams for young ladies through age 18.
The "League Age" for Girls' Softball is determined by the player's age as of December 31st, 2008. As in the baseball divisions, players are required to register with the league in which they reside. If the situation arises where there are not enough players to create a team from one league's registration results, "leagues" may be approved to combine players to create teams which can play with other teams across the District!
In our case, our "District" includes leagues in the Eugene, Springfield, and Cottage Grove areas. Additionally, 'special games' events may be scheduled to include games over a weekend that would include teams coming to us from other districts or our teams traveling for games in another part of the State. It's an exciting opportunity for young ladies to have a fun time, developing their skills at the game of softball, building friendships, and growing as individuals.
For more information about Girls' Softball in your league, call, e-mail, or come by a listed registration.
Registration will require our viewing the original (or a certified copy) of a Government-issued birth certificate, and three varied pieces of proof of residence that the family resides within our boundaries. For ease, we request a drivers license, motor vehicle registration, and a utility bill - all must show the current address as will be used in registering the player (if a PO Box, the documents must also so the physical street address).
After the regular season, players ages 9 through 18 may be eligible for selection to an All Star Team which participates in District, State, Regional, and World Series tournaments - with continued participation based on continued wins.
