SHELDON's Meadowlark BallField was also 'home site' for the 9&10 year old Baseball STATE tournament!  Nine teams from around the state converged on our local field and community for a week and made great use of our facility!  Information about the tournament (including all teams that participated, scores, and the bracket) can be found at the District website !
     The team representing District 9 was West Emerald Valley;
             and the State Champions are Bend South Little League!
Most of the games were won by only 1 or 2 runs!   There were two 'over the fence' home runs - both by Bend South players! If you didn't come out to watch, you missed some great ball!  The volunteers who stepped up to handle the field and concessions did an outstanding job!  Willamette Valley provided the BBQ Dinner for all the players, managers, and coaches after the opening ceremony Friday evening!  The leagues and District are very proud of how the tournament went!  As the District Administrator noted, "we" saw 9 and 10 year olds on a 60' field.  "They" were grownups on a 90' field playing for their favorite team ... Playing Baseball; Living their Dream ...
