Strong Season for the Irish
Sheldon completed another strong season in 2007, finishing with an 18-8 overall record and a trip to the 6A playoffs. The Irish finished third at 9-6 in the first year of the strong Southwest Conference. The Southwest Conference presented a more difficult competitive challenge than the former Midwestern League, but the Irish rose to the challenge with some excellent performances against some of the best teams in the state, including giving Roseburg its only regular season loss.
Seven Irish starters were named to the SWC All-League team: Teea Rogers, Taylor Pangilinan, Chloe Buerstatte, Katie Steigleman, Sienna Stanley, Tami Brown, and Kaitlyn Patterson.
Chloe Buerstatte and Taylor Pangilinan were named to the 2007 Oregon 6A All-State Team.
First-year Sheldon varsity letter awards were given to Cleo Nagy, Jessica Patterson, Torie Halverson, and Liz Stewart. Annual awards were given to the following:
Most Inspirational Player: Sienna Stanley
Most Improved Player: Jessica Patterson
Coaches Award: Karlie Hyde
Offensive Player of the Year: Chloe Buerstatte
Defensive Player of the Year: Taylor Pangilinan
