Jump Start Clinics
As in the past, the SGSA will be having softball practice by age group and by team in late March and early April. Please attend these early season practices as they will be the first time travel teams and coaches will get together. Dates and locations for these clinics are as follows:

2008 Girls Softball Travel and In-house Registration Information - Updated
Traveling and In-House Registration dates
Thursday February 7th, 7 - 9 pm
Saturday February 9th, 9 - 11 am
Saturday February 16th, 9 - 11 am
Registration Fee*: $85 due at registration
* In addition to the registration fee, players selected to a travel team in the spring will be required to pay an additional travel fee to cover a share of the tournament entry fees, equipment, league fees, umpires, etc. This additional travel fee will vary be age level.
Make check payable to Shakopee Girls Softball Association. Additional registrations can be mailed no later than February 16th to: SGSA, PO Box 476, Shakopee, MN 55379. Registrations received after February 16th do not guarantee placement on a travel team. Registrations will not be accepted at the Shakopee Community Center. Check website for registration locations.
Travel Leagues
Suburban Softball League:
Ages 8-18 (as of 12/31/06)
Teams in the traveling league will play in the South/Southwest Metro league. Practices will begin in mid-April with games being held usually twice a week. Shakopee will host an Invitational Tournament in mid-June. More details will be available at registration. Additional weekend tournaments will be played in May, June and July. Uniforms are not included in the registration fee. They must be ordered by participants during a separate meeting in the spring.
Teams will be divided into age groups: 10 & under, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U.
Fundraiser
The Softball Association will be hosting one softball tournament this summer. Our fundraiser efforts will be focused on successfully operating this tournament. All families will be assigned a 2-3 hour work shift at this June tournament.

Winter Clinic Dates
The SGSA winter softball clinics will start Sunday, November 18th at the Middle School. More specifically, the details are as follows:

6th Grade and below will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
7th Grade and higher will be from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
These open clinics are an excellent time to better your softball skills and prepare for traveling team tryouts.
