Handout: Results and Winners

Saturday, March 28

The Regional tournament games to decide the 2009 Final Four are complete.  Check the results to see if you are a winner.

Reminder:  in each game the higher seed is the team with the better ranking - the #1 seed is the highest seed.

In the National Semi-finals and Championship game the possibility exists for games between teams with the same rank.  In that case the higher seed will be decided by the region the team played in the tournament - Midwest, South, East, then West.

In this case if North Carolina and Connecticut meet in the Championship game, North Carolina will be the higher seed.

Good luck to all the participants and congratulations to the winners.

Friday, March 20

After working out a few glitches the files for Round 1 and 2 are now posted.  You can view the final board to determine which numbers you have for the games.  Remember that the Higher Seed team is the smaller number and the Lower Seed team is the larger number.

The Bracket Results file will show each games results in bracket form.  The Winner List shows the results of each game and the corresponding winning square.

All the winning checks will be mailed automatically at the end of the tournament.

Thanks for participating, congratulations to the winners so far and good luck for the rest of the tournament.

The Sacred Heart Athletic Association is sponsoring a fundraiser for the basketball program.  Here is how you can have fun helping our program.

We all have seen Superbowl boards where you buy a square and depending on the score of the game you win.  Well, we want to do that same thing for the NCAA Basketball Championship Tournament in March 2009.  Only in our version your square is good for each and every game of the tournament - 63 games in all.  Every game there is a winner!  All this for only $60 per square.

This is so simple to play...you don't need to pick teams or fill out brackets, you don't even have to watch the games.  We track all that for you and mail the prizes at the end of the tournament.

If you want more information on how to participate click on the Rules, Information, & Results on the left side information bar.

Squares go on sale Sunday, January 25 at the Spring Sports Registration in the Church Hall after masses, and again on Sunday, Febuary 1.

If you can't make registration in person, fill out the information on the handout and mail it in with your check payable to SHAA according to the instructions.

Buy a square for yourself or get your friends, neighbors, teammates, or co-workers to go in on one together.

Completed Boards will be posted on this webpage before the tournament starts on March 19.  Results will be posted as the tournament progresses.  All prizes will be mailed at the conclusion of the tournament.

We pay $3,000 in prizes for each board according to the following schedule:

Prize payout per Board sold
Round 1 winners  $      30.00 each game
Round 2 winners  $      60.00 each game
Regional semi-finals  $      60.00 each game
Regional championship  $      75.00 each game
Semi-Finals  $      90.00 each game
Championship  $    120.00
Total Prizes  $ 3,000.00

Contact Pat Breheny or John Knox if you have any questions.

Thanks for participating and good luck.
