Welcome SF American Little League
SANTA FE AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE P.O. Box 6774 Santa Fe, NM 87504 Web Site: http://eteamz.active.com/sfamericanlittleleague December 28, 2005 Dear Little League Players, Parents, Families, and Coaches: It has just turned to winter here in Santa Fe, but sooner than you realize, another baseball season will be upon us. As the new president of the Santa Fe American Little League, I wanted to inform you of some changes for the 2006 Little League season. The most important change is a new world-wide Little League rule, which determines a player’s League Age by his/her age as of April 30 of the season year (instead of July 31). As a result, players born during May, June or July will be the same League Age during 2006 that they were during the 2005 season. The enclosed chart showing Age Eligibility by Division should clarify the effects of this change. Next, in response to several comments from coaches, parents, and players, we have adopted new rules for the Minor B Division that should help players with the transition to the more skilled divisions. The first three weeks of the Minor B regular season will be Adult/Coach-Pitch. During that time, coaches and parents will work with players at practices to prepare them for pitching and batting against their peers. The remainder of the season will be Player-Pitch. Finally, during registration, we will be asking you to indicate your level of interest in a Fall Baseball program that would likely run from the end of August through early October. If there is sufficient interest, players will register for teams to play against other Fall League teams from Albuquerque to Los Alamos. A list of important dates is enclosed. Please remember that Little League can not thrive without your participation. Please consider volunteering to help all of our kids in any way that you can. Every year the League needs managers, coaches, umpires, concession stand workers, and board members. Experience is not required and the rewards will last a life time. Let’s make 2006 our best season yet. Sincerely, Paul W.
