Devon Lamothe scored a pair of goals to lead Service past Bartlett.

Bartlett's Stephen DeBoer stopped all 18 shots he faced in the first period, but the barrage of shots by Service took its toll in the second period. The Cougars scored four times in the second period and added two more goals in the third. Service outshot Bartlett 60-8 in the contest.

Zachery Perry scored an unassisted power-play goal early in the third period for the Golden Bears.

Service got two goals each from Jeremy Smith and Bering Halloran Friday to take a 6-1 nonconference win over Soldotna at Ben Boeke Arena. Service, which outshot Soldotna 40-12, also got goals from Cody Hansen and Kyle Coryell.

Josh Kerkvliet had the lone Soldotna goal.

Jordann Russell scored a pair of goals and Dani Shelton earned the shutout in net, lifting Service-East past Chugiak-Eagle River on Friday.

Russell's power-play goal in the first period gave Service-East the early lead. Kirsten Hansen added a score in the second period before Russell's goal midway through the third pushed the advantage to 3-0. Hannah Bergstrom and Heather Merkouris finished off the scoring with tallies in the final minute of play.

Shelton finished with 15 saves, including 10 in the third period.

Eight players scored goals as Service traveled to Palmer and came away with a dominating victory.

The Cougars outshot the Moose 49-12 and improved to 5-1-1 on the season.

Jack Cronin, Bering Halloran, Devon Lamothe, Garrett Brown, Aaron McInnis, Kevin Klump, Cody Hansen and Chase Crabb each scored for Service.

Cody Gongora and Pat Walgren split time in net for the Cougars, each picking up six saves.

Service 6, East 4

Aaron McInnis and Jack Cronin scored third-period goals to carry Service to a 6-4 victory over East. Service led 1-0 after the first period and scored twice in the opening 40 seconds of the second period.

But East reeled off four straight goals to tie things up 4-4 going into the third period.

McInnis struck in the first minute for the game winner, and Cronin added some insurance with his goal midway through the period.

Cougars win Challenge

Service defeated Lathrop 2-1 Saturday to win the Peninsula Ice Challenge in Kenai. The Cougars led 2-0 late in the third period but surrendered a goal when Lathrop went on a 5-on-3 power play and pulled its goalie for a 6-on-3 advantage.

Service finished 3-0 in the round-robin tournament.

Kelsey Watson scored with 17 seconds left in the second period for Chugiak-Eagle River to forge a 2-2 tie with Service-East. Service-East took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Trinity Havrilla and Jordann Russell. Chugiak-Eagle River answered with goals by Morgan Elledge and Watson in the second period.

Service-East held a 33-19 advantage in shots on goal, but Chugiak-East's Sierra Carr made 31 saves, including 17 in the third period and overtime.
