SHS Coaches and the Cougar Gridiron Booster Club have organized an exciting, championship-caliber season for all members of the Cougar Football Program.
Please mark your calendar and plan to attend this important meeting to discuss the 2008 football season. Pass the word so everyone knows about this meeting.
TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
Summer Camp, ASD Registration, Varsity trip to Las Vegas, Fundraising Opportunities, 2008 Budget, Volunteers, and future plans for the Cougar Football Program.
REMINDER:
Your $50 (tax deductible) Cougar Commitment Fee is due.
This money will be counted toward your 2008 fundraising goal
and help secure opportunities for the upcoming season.
Please bring a check, payable to CGBC.
The participating student's first and last name should be noted on the check.
Receipts will be given.
This fee will be refunded if you notify the CGBC in writing, prior to July 31, 2008,
that your student will not be participating in the 2008 Cougar Football Program.

FOOTBALL SEASON IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING!
THE SEASON BEGINS JULY 28, 2008
Attending football camps and clincs will help you improve your skills
and get in shape for the 2008 football season.

COUGAR FOOTBALL SUMMER CAMP
The Cougar Football Summer Camp will be held on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,
July 22, 23, 24, and 25
Cost $100
Open to all current 9-12 graders
Two intensive skills sessions per day:
4:00 to 6:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM
Forms available for download in the handouts section under camps and clinics or at the meeting 7/21
REGISTRATION:
Monday, July 21 @ 7:00 PM
At the All-Member Meeting in the SHS Cafeteria
OR
Tuesday, July 22 @ 2:30 PM
(Camp Registration / Camp Gear Checkout)
In the main entry to the SHS Gym (near the weight room)
WHAT TO BRING:
Campers should bring their own snacks and beverages
(Water will be provided during training sessions)
Football players also need to bring a mouthguard,
weather-appropriate work out clothes, and cleats / tennis shoes
SPECIAL NOTE:
All campers must remain on the premises during the break
So, they should bring all equipment, food, and beverages to camp with them.
Parents may observe during camp sessions and visit with athletes during the break
It is VERY important that all Cougar football players
attend this camp to help them prepare for the season.
This is a very well structured, valuable,
non-contact / light-contact camp
We have made it bigger and better each year
Helmets and shoulder pads will be issued and/or required.

SUMMER WEIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM

FREE!!!
All athletes planning to play football for the Cougars in 2008 should attend the summer weight training sessions. SHS coaches will be on-site to help athletes with their training routines. Take advantage of this opportunity to become a better athlete and prepare for the 2008 football season.
SPECIAL NOTE: Coaches will be taking attendance at these sessions and keeping track of all members participating in pre-season training.

The Xplosive Sports Performance Program offers comprehensive sports training for individuals and teams. Space is limited. If you would like to participate, contact Coach Numi at coachnumi51@yahoo.com ASAP.

FOOTBALL MANAGERS & STUDENT-ATHLETIC TRAINERS
ARE NEEDED FOR OUR 2008 SEASON
Student Team Managers and Student-Athletic Trainers are an important part of the Service Cougar Football Program. They assist our coaches, take care of our players, and support the team at all events. Are you interested in becoming a Football Manager or Trainer for the 2008 Football Season? NOW is the time to make that decision because the Service Cougar Football Program is offering wonderful opportunities to our Student Team Managers and Student-Athletic Trainers. Barbara Taylor, a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapist, will be working with our team. She is offering in-depth training to our students during the off-season. Ms. Taylor is very dedicated, and enthusiastic about helping students explore a possible career in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine. She is a definite asset to the Service Cougar Football Program. If you are interested in signing up to become a football manager or trainer, please contact Coach Caldarera or Wendy Stewart ASAP.

YARD SALE
SATURDAY, JULY 26
SET UP 7:00 AM
SALE 9:00 AM TO 3:00 PM
SERVICE HIGH SCHOOL PARKING LOT
Start cleaning out your crawlspace, garage, shed, and closets... the Cougars are having a YARD SALE! All items will be sold to raise money for the 2008 football season. If you don't have anything to sell -- mark your calendar and plan to attend the sale -- there will be some GREAT deals available! Be sure to tell your family members, neighbors, and friends. The more money you earn in sales ~ the less you will have to fundraise after football season begins.
Sale items can be brought to Service High Parking Lot (Near the pool building) beginning at 7:00 AM. All items should be clearly marked with a sale price BEFORE they are brought to Service.
Our Cougar Yard Sale is being organized similar to the Saturday Market. Each family can set up a table or booth. They will be responsible for setting up their area, selling their items or services, collecting payment, and tearing down their sales area when the yard sale ends.
Money earned at the sale can be turned in to the Cougar Gridiron Booster Club and counted toward a member's 2008 fundraising goal. Paperwork and envelopes will be provided to turn in your money.
