The Annual Meeting was held on September 27th at Round Table Pizza. The following members were elected to the Portland Little League Board of Directors:

The board meetings are held the second Sunday of each month at Round Table Pizza on Foster road at 6:30. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Wii / Wii Fit Drawing Results
The season-long Wii raffle was done at yesterday's End of the Season Picnic.
Theresa Holgate was the winner of the Wii raffle, and Rod Atkinson won the Wii Fit in the same raffle. Thanks to all who contributed to this fund raiser!

2009 District 2 Softball Interleague Rules
DISTRICT #2 SOFTBALL INTERLEAGUE RULES
These supplemental “Playing Rules” (By-laws) are designed to standardize interleague playing rules throughout the district. After many years of conflict arising from different rules utilized among the leagues, the Presidents of all leagues in Oregon District #2 adopted the following standards for play in Interleague teams. The following has also been approved by Western Region Headquarters. Play will be governed by Little League Official Rules and Regulations with the following modifications.
FARM SB DIVISION PLAYING RULES
MINOR SB DIVISION PLAYING RULES1. No base-on-balls (walks); batters remain at plate until the ball is hit or strikes out.
2. With pitcher development the objective, players will pitch the first four pitches, but on delivery of ball four, the coach will finish pitching to the batter. (Coach-pitch or the coach placing the ball in the pitching machine is a local league option.) Offensive coaches will pitch to their own batters.
3. Runners may leave their bases only when a pitch is hit by the batter. No advance is allowed by stealing, passed balls or other misplays. Any runner between bases after a hit must stop at the next base when the ball is returned to the pitcher’s circle, with or without control.
4. Infield fly rule will not be used.
5. Five run limit for all innings.
6. No new inning shall start after one hour forty five minutes of play.
7. Teams shall bat their rosters.
8. No score should be announced.
9. “Softie” balls will be used until May 15th.
MAJOR SB DIVISION PLAYING RULES1. Player pitch; umpires should have a slightly expanded strike zone as needed.
2. Runners may advance at will on misplayed balls.
3. Runners may not advance beyond third base on passed balls. Runners may steal second or third base.
4. After May 1st, all runners may attempt to advance on steals, passed balls and misplays giving coaches the opportunity to teach offensive and defensive skills before tournament season, including advancing to home.
5. Infield fly rule will not be used.
6. Five run limit, except for the sixth or last inning which will be open.
7. Ten-run rule will be in effect.
8. If a scheduled game follows, no new inning shall start after two hours of play unless the score is tied.
9. Teams shall bat a line-up or roster as prescribed by their own local league by-laws.

Portland Little League Constitution and Bylaws available for download
The approved Portland Little League Constitution for the 2009 season, along with the bylaws and playing rules are available for download. These documents outline how the league is supposed to operate, and provide some basic playing rules that we will be using. We encourage everyone read the bylaws and playing rules! End of the Season Picnic June 13th!
Saturday June 13th is the End of the Season Picnic from 12:00 to 4:00 at Woodstock Park.
Free Food will be served. A raffle will be held, with a drawing done every 30 minutes. There will be a Dunk Tank, and rumor has it that Lucky The Beaver will be stopping by. In addition, the drawing for the Wii raffle will be done, a silent auction held, and much more!
