2009 Regional - Game 11

 

WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. – Naamans Little League of Wilmington, Del. used a couple of big innings early to coast to a 12-3 win over North Caroline/Denton, Md. in an elimination game at the Senior Little League Baseball Eastern Regional on Monday evening.

Naamans will face St. Mary’s, Pa. at 12 noon on Tuesday in another elimination game.

The two-time defending Delaware state champions scored five runs in the second inning, taking advantage of four errors in the inning. For the game, North Caroline committed eight miscues. Only six of Naamans’ 12 runs were earned in the ball game.

Naamans conserved pitching on the day, using four pitchers in the win. Mike Vanderloo worked the first four innings before giving way to the bullpen. Jarad Carney was awarded the win as the most effective relief pitcher after Connor McHugh allowed two runs while recording one out.

Jesse Ellis was 2-for-2 with three RBI and a run scored to pace Naamans. Tyler Usilton had two hits for North Caroline, including a solo homer in the fourth.
