2008 Regional - Game 10
2008 Senior Little League Baseball Eastern Regional – Game 10 WEST DEPTFORD, NJ – Wyatt Gibeault came on in the seventh to record the save and Dan Jones went 3-for-3 as Brooklyn-Killingly, CT staved off elimination with a 5-4 win over Suncook, NH at the Senior Little League Baseball Eastern Regional on Sunday afternoon. Gibeault came in with one out in the seventh after Jack Weaver hit his maximum of 95 pitches. After getting the second out of the inning, he allowed a single just inside the left field line to VJ Ranfos, which scored Connor Moroney and made it a 5-4 game. Ranfos finished the day 3-for-3 with three RBI. Gibeault then walked Zach Noel to put runners at first and second before coaxing clean-up hitter Matt Gosselin into a fielder’s choice to end the ballgame. Weaver earned the win, going 6-1/3 inning and scattering five hits. Just one of the four runs he allowed was earned. Nathan Derkacz was the tough luck loser for Suncook, working 5-1/3 innings. He allowed four runs, but just one was earned as Suncook committed four errors in the game. Suncook had rallied to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth as Ranfos plated two with a double down the right field line. The third run scored on a Brooklyn-Killingly error. Brooklyn-Killingly will play another elimination game Monday at 10 am when it faces the winner of the Gloucester, MA-Wappinger, NY game.
