2010 Tryouts and Draft Information

Registration ends when tryouts conclude.  Anyone who wishes to sign up after the conclusion of tryouts will be wait listed.  All dates and times are subject to change.

Tryouts are planned for February 13, 2010 at South Valley Junior High School.   

Juniors tryouts will start at 8:00AM on the 8th Grade Field.  The Juniors draft will be held 30 minutes after the conclusion of tryouts so managers need to plan accordingly.  Formal notification of your team placement will be February 19, 2009 the Juniors division.

Tryouts for Majors and Minors division will start at 9:00AM on the 7th Grade Field.  11-12 years old will start at 9:00AM.  10 years old will start tentatively at 9:45AM.  9 years old will start tentatively at 10:30.  8 years old will start tentatively at 11:15.  Drafts for the Majors and Minors division is planned for February 16, 2010.  Formal notification of your team placement will be February 19, 2009 the Majors and Minors division.

As the tryout date approaches we will attempt to provide more detailed times.  We would appreciate adult volunteers to help us with the tryout process.

There are no tryouts for Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions.  All team placements are assigned by the league.  We will do everything possible to accomodate manager and friend requests you make during the registration process.  If you would like to form your own Tee Ball or Coach Pitch Team please contact us at info@sediamondbacks.com.   Formal notification of your team placement will be February 19, 2009 the Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions.

All players in the Minors Division must try out.  There are no Player Property Rights in this division. For 8 year olds to play Minors they must register for Minors, participate in tryouts, and be drafted by a Minors team.  Otherwise they will be assigned to a Coach Pitch Team.   9 and 10 year old players who sign up for the Minors and do not participate in Tryouts will be placed in a blind draft.

Returning players (from the 2009 season) in the Majors Division are Property Players and are not required to try out.  They are placed on their team from the 2009 season.  First time players in the Majors Division who sign up for Majors and do not participate in Tryouts will be placed in a blind draft.

The Juniors Division will be rostered in the same manner as the Majors and Minors Division.  Players who wish to sign up after tryouts complete will be wait listed.  The total number of players signed up through the day of tryouts will be divided by 12 to determine the number of teams.   If there are fewer than 4 teams rostered in the 2010 season the 2009 team with the fewest number of returning Property Players will be disbanded and those players put back into the draft.   Little League rules stipulate a roster of 12 to 15 players.  The focus will be on fewer teams with more players for the Juniors Division.  Interleague play is planned with GNLL.
