Sedgwick County Soccer Association: Welcome

A non-profit organization, Sedgwick County Soccer Association (SCSA) was founded in June of 1991. Today, we have over 300 teams that involve over 3,500 players and just nearly 600 coaches. Each weekend, SCSA competition brings out an average of 10,000 people to our 60-acre sports complex in south Wichita. Most teams come from the Wichita area, however some travel from communities such as Hutchinson, Salina, Newton, and Derby to compete. SCSA is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. Our league is supported wholey by funds from registered players and teams, with the help of local sponsors.

SCSA Now Accepts Credit Cards for Payments

After many requests, SCSA has explored all of the options to allow the league to accept payments via debit or credit card. Beginning with Fall 2014, we will have the capability to accept this method of payment, however a small convenience fee will be added to your total. Cash or check can still be used at no extra cost. At the July board meeting, SCSA board members voted for the 2014 recipient of the Les Longhauser award.  Mark Maloney, a past board member who served as Secretary & legal counsel to SCSA, was chosen. Mark served several years on the board and still provides legal counsel as needed. Thank you, Mark for your many hours of work for SCSA!

The Les Longhauser award is presented annually by the SCSA board to the individual that most exhibits the volunteer spirit that marked Les Longhauser's long involvement in Wichita area soccer.

Wichita Referee Named Kansas State Male Referee of the Year

Wichita's own Peyton Sanders has been named the 2014 Kansas State Male Referee of the Year! That is a huge accomplishment! Congrats, Peyton!

Fomer SCSA player and referee debuts in the MLS!

Did you happen to notice anyone familiar on the TV broadcast of the Columbus Crew MLS match last weekend?

Our very own KYLE ATKINS was selected for his first MLS match and did an outstanding job with a number of great offside decisions. This assignment followed his recent selection to represent US soccer in Finland as well as his numerous NWSL assignments over the last two seasons.

Kyle has shown amazing work ethic and preparation. He has been working toward this moment for years with daily workouts and constant refereeing engagement. Kyle has represented Kansas at numerous youth and adult tournaments and has worked the Papa Johns tournament for us in Wichita numerous times.

Your dreams can come true if you work hard enough!!

Extra Water Breaks Being Added to Games at Southlakes

Due to the excessive heat and humidity, SCSA will provide water breaks during each game at the Southlakes soccer complex.  The brief breaks will be taken mid-point of both first and second half but no stoppage time will be added.  Referees will be responsible to blow the whistle to initiate the break and restart the game.  Players are to remain on the field during these breaks but are allowed to go to the sideline for water.  Please make sure there is adequate water available for all players during the games.  Breaks for the U5 and U6 players should be directed as needed with both coaches in agreement.
