Coach DeWald's Introduction to the Maple Parents

On Wednesday night, February 8th at Seaholm's Little Theater, Maple parents and players had the pleasure of meeting newly hired Head Coach Jim DeWald, his two young sons and wife, and a few of his staff members that will be following him from Andover.

The event was hosted by Athletic Director Aaron Frank and Booster Club President Marco Capicchioni, and was attended by a small but eager group of parents and players. Coach DeWald spoke for fifteen or twenty minutes about his background, his general expectations of players, the significance of off season weight training and his player "grading" protocols.

One thing was crystal clear from everything Coach DeWald had to say about his program -- it will be about player accountability. Players will be held to high character, commitment, practice and training standards. The Seaholm football community extends a warm welcome to that message, and to Coach DeWald, his family and staff.

It's time to get to work Maples. You'll get what you earn - both on and off the field

*The new coaching staff and boosters are working to publish a calendar of weight lifting sessions and other significant dates as soon as possible. When available, that calendar will be immediately published on the website.

NEW HEAD COACH - Message from Aaron Frank

image_name2

Hi everyone. I am pleased to inform you we have hired Jim DeWald as the head coach of the Seaholm Football program. Coach DeWald was born in California. He was recruited to Western Michigan where he was a team captain and then graduate assistant coach. Mr. DeWald has been the head coach at Pontiac Northern and Andover (where he is currently a teacher).

Coach DeWald has a tremendous passion for football and the student-athletes who play the game. I am very excited about the future of Seaholm Football.

On Tuesday at 3:00 pm in the Little Theater, we will introduce Coach DeWald to our team. All Seaholm football players are encouraged to attend this brief meeting. Coach DeWald is working with Marco Capicchioni to coordinate the (separate) parent meet-and-greet as well.

Thank you to all of the members of our committees who assisted in this hiring process.

Go Maples!

Aaron
