Welcome to the SD Sharkz Lacrosse Club Homepage. We had a great summer season finishing Elite Champions, High School runner ups, and MS Champions. Information for the Winter 2010/2011 season is now available. Please feel free to email sdsharkz@gmail.com with any questions!
Winter Tryouts!!!
Date: October 24th, 2010
Location: Poway High School Stadium Field
Times: 1:00pm - 5:00pm (HS and Elite ONLY)
Winter Starz Season Information:
The fees, value and structure will be the same as it has been in the past for the Starz Cup. Practices will be held once per week starting October 31st (after tryouts) and run through the end of January. The sharkz program is a great way to prepare for the upcoming high school season, bring your game to the next level, and learn from coaches who have played/coached very high level lacrosse. All practice will be held at Poway High School on Sunday afternoons between 1:00pm and 5:00pm. We plan to hold 1-2 Elite level teams, and 1-2 High School level teams.

TOURNAMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
As the program continues to grow, we realize that many of our Sharkz players are interested in traveling and attending tournaments to face out of area competition and possibly be seen by recruiters. We intend to bring the Elite team to 2-3 tournaments this upcoming winter, depending on commitment and attendance to these events. These tournaments would be an additional fee (Cost = $175 which would include a hotel for 2 nights):
D.W. Lacrosse Fall Tournament - St Mary's College, Moraga, CA - November 6th - 7th
Sin City Showdown - UNLV, Las Vegas, NV - December 11th - 12th S
and Storm Tournament - Empire Polo Fields, Palm Desert, CA - January 15th - 16th
If you are interested in attending any of these tournaments, please let me know in advance. Players who make the Elite team(s) will have priority spots on the travel team.
WEST COAST STARZ:
As a part of the Sharkz program, you are eligible to be nominated for West Coast Starz. If you are unfamiliar with West Coast Starz, the goal of this team and program is to provide players with the opportunity to play at the collegiate level and bring this team to the best recruiting events both on the East as well as West Coast. We will be selecting a 2012 team as well as 2013 team for WCS. There will be a combine/tryout immediately following Starz Cup for this team, and players who make the team will attend the following recruiting events during the 2011 Summer:
All American Showcase - Capital Cup: Germantown MD, June 17th - 19th
Adrenaline Showcase: Santa Barbara, CA, July 8th - 10th
This is a great opportunity if you are looking to take your game to the next level and continue on past high school lacrosse. We have already had 4 girls from last summer's WCS team commit to Division 1 College Programs. Please let me know if you are interested in this opportunity, so you can be nominated following sharkz tryouts!
WINTER REGISTRATION FEES:
Tryouts: $35
High School Season: $315 - Includes Starz Cup
Elite Season: $490 - Includes Starz Cup + Sandstorm Fees (including hotel)
