South Durham Little League: Welcome

Friday, September 19
Annual Meeting and Call for Board Volunteers

South Durham Little League will be holding its Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 4:00pm at the Kappas of Durham Foundation Community Center. This meeting is open to all SDLL members and we encourage everyone to attend.  We will discuss the State of the League, our future goals, and answer any questions that you may have.

SDLL is a volunteer organization and we are in need of more help due to tremendous recent growth.  One of the ways to get involved is to join the Board of Directors. The Board is a representation of the community and should be a mix of coaches and parents of various aged players. We are especially in need of representation from parents of players ages 4-9.  The Board is very active and very hands-on with the operations of the league. There is a lot of planning and effort that goes into making our league a success.  Board Members are expected to assist with at least one or more of the tasks:

  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Player-Agent and/or Assistant Player-Agent
  • Uniforms Coordinator
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
  • Slugfest Coordinator
  • Opening Ceremonies Coordinator
  • Scheduling Coordinator
  • Durham Bulls Tickets Coordinator
  • Umpire Liaison
  • League Commissioner

Please let us know if you or someone you know might be interested by submitting this form.

Welcome to Fall Ball

As you may know, SDLL focuses on player development during the Fall season.   This year we are offering weekly clinics within some divisions which promise to be both informative and fun.  Attendance is not required but we encourage all to take advantage of this opportunity for additional instruction.

Please be aware that all league-wide communications will be made via the following: league email, email from coaches, posting on Facebook and posting here at the website.  Every attempt will be made to keep practices and games as scheduled; however, some decisions are unfortunately made at the last minute as we experienced this past week.

Finally, please be aware we are working quickly to correct any uniform errors and field maintenence issues.

Thanks again for playing with South Durham Little League!  We appreciate your support!
