91 Invaders  Provincial Midget B Champs

Parents and Players

Another fastball season has come to an end and another will begin, sooner than we think.  Tryouts will take place inearly to mid September so keep an eye out for emails and newspaper ads advising of the upcoming times and locations.

This past year was again a successful season for the Invader program - none more so than for our  91 team coached by Doug Harris, Jamie Husband and Gary Fast.  The 91 Invaders finished off their Minor careers by being crowned the Midget B Provincial champs in July up in Sicamous, going undefeated in both the round robin and the playoffs.  They then went on to Unity, Saskatchewan to represent BC at the Western Championships where they finished 5th overall.  A great season for a great team top to bottom.  Well done!  As I said, this was the end of their Minor careers and we do hope they continue on at the Junior level in the green and gold.

The Invader organization sent 5 teams to provincials this year, 4 at B and one at A.  Job well done ladies and coaches.  Our 99 Squirt team coached by Erin McGill, Sean McGill, Michelle Kaltenegger and Dave Rally was one of those 4 teams. Being a first year team and qualifying for a provincials is quite anaccomplishment, so congrats to all of you.

With every new season changes take place. We will be saying good bye to both Suzette Monk (Head Coach of the ‘97 Invader) and Mike Schneider (Head Coach of the ‘95 Invaders).  Thank you both for your contributions over the years.  We will be welcoming Gord Chan on board as the new head coach of the 97 team.  Gord is a well qualified coach and was an assistant coach with the team last year, therefore it should be a smooth transition.  We are accepting applications for the ‘95 Invader team and will be making a coaching choice in September.

I would like to thank Dave Rally for helping me this year with the running of the Invader organization and if all goes well, Dave plans on taking over the reins for me next season, as I step down.

I hope you have all had a good summer and I look forward to seeing everyone back on the diamond next year.

Doug Steer, President

The South Delta Invaders Girls Fastpitch Association is a Rep 'B' organization in Delta, B.C. We are a joint venture between the Tsawwassen Minor Softball Association and the Ladner Minor Fastpitch Association. We have 8 teams from Squirts (11-12 yrs old) up to Junior(19-23 yrs old), who play opposition throughout British Columbia. Former Invaders players still play competitive ball in the Senior Womens leagues as well.
