New York State Soccer Hall of Fame Induction National Soccer Hall of Fame Museum, Oneonta New York Saturday November 15, 2008 MICHAEL HUEY On November 15, 2008 Mike Huey became the third Suffolk County recipient inducted into the New York State Soccer Hall of Fame. The ceremony has held at the National Soccer Hall of Fame Museum in Oneonta, New York. Mike had many family members on hand including his daughter and his son David. The Mattituck School District was well represented as many coaches, administrators and school board members traveled to Oneonta for the induction. The induction was the high light of an awesome weekend of soccer. Two Suffolk County teams, Brentwood and Comsewogue captured NYS Championships as the best twenty soccer teams in the state gathered to decide the 2008 Boy's High School Championships. Mike has dedicated himself to Suffolk County soccer. He is the Section-XI Soccer Chairman and has been a physical education teacher, varsity soccer and tennis coach and Athletic Director at Mattituck High School for over thirty years. Mike will retire at the end of this school year but will stay on as the Section-XI Soccer Chairman for boy's soccer. CONGRATULATIONS to Mike Huey and his family on this very deserving award. Other Hall of Famers from Suffolk County include Bill Lown who was inducted in 1989 and John Eden who was inducted in 2005. ****************************************************************************
