All persons associated with SCSA Select are expected at all times to conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner and to behave in such a manner as to not bring disrepute to themselves, the players, the coaches or the reputation of the club. Berating officials during games, dissenting referee calls, arguing or fighting with opponents, teammates, players, other parents, coaches or officials of the club will not be tolerated.
Players are expected to attend all practices and games unless excused by their coach. In all cases, players are expected to notify their coach if they are going to be absent from a practice or a game. Players are expected to bring appropriate clothing and shoes, an appropriately sized ball (properly filled with air), shin guards, and water to all practices and games. Players are also expected to cooperate with the coaches and teammates during all events connected with practices and games.
Parents are expected to be positive about the play of their sons, teammates, and opponents. Parents are also expected to promptly fulfill their financial obligations to the club and to the extent possible volunteer their time to assist coaches during practices, games, or in administrative responsibilities or other events connected with the club. If fund raisers are held, parents are expected to participate or to contribute monetarily to the event.
Coaches and officials of the club are expected to treat all persons with dignity and respect and act at all times in the best interests of the players including making reasonable accommodations for players and their families to pursue other interests.
1. Player Eligibility: Players on SCSA Select team must reside in the geographical area described in the SCSA Constitution. “The boundaries of The Southeast Cincinnati Soccer Association shall benorth of the Ohio River, eastern Hamilton County and western Clermont County. Also, new areas where soccer programs do not exist may be included.”
Up to twelve (12) players per team will be chosen on teams which play 6 v 6(U8-U10), up to fourteen (14) players per team for 8 v 8 (U11-U12) and up to eighteen (18) will be chosen for all other teams.
2. LeagueAffiliation: SCSA Select competes in the Cincinnati United Soccer League (CUSL), and is governed by theConstitution and by-laws of SCSA, CUSL, and the Ohio South Youth SoccerAssociation (OSYSA).
3. Tryouts & Player Placement: Open tryouts for SCSA Select will be held in Juneof each year. Supplemental tryouts forexisting teams and open tryouts for new teams will be held in November of eachyear. Other supplemental tryouts may beconducted on an as needed basis.
4. Tournaments: SCSA Select teams are encouraged to play in tournaments as agreed by majority vote of the parents. At the discretion of the SCSA Director and Treasurer, $150 per season per team may be funded out of player registration fees collected.
5. Player Fees: Player fees for SCSA Select teams are currently $150 per player. Individual player fees shall be based on total expected team costs divided by the anticipated number of players in the club. Player fees shall include all league fees,administration fees, player cards, advertising and administrative fees, field maintenance or use fees, referee fees, and other direct playing fees during CUSL seasons.
6. Player Fee Due Dates: Player fees shall be paid to SCSA Select directly or through the coach by each player’s family. This fee is due within thirty days ofacceptance on to a team’s roster. This payment is non-refundable unless due to season ending injury prior to the 4thgame of the season.
7. Fund Raising: All SCSA Select teams may,by majority vote of the parents of the team involved, have fund raisingactivities to raise funds for team/player fees of for other purposes such asadditional equipment, tournament fees, trainers, team banners, etc. Fundraisers must by approved by the SCSA Select Director.
8. Coach Selection & Requirements: Head coaches for SCSA Select teams shall be chosen (following written application listing the applicant’s coaching experience, coaching philosophy, playing experience, and USSF licensing level, if any) by the SCSA Select Director.
9. Policy on Paid Coaches: SCSA Select coaches are considered volunteers and shall not be paid for their services.
10.Uniforms & Sponsorship Policy: Team colors for SCSA Select shall be blue and gold. The primary or “home” uniform shall be a blue jersey with SCSA Select logo, blue shorts and blue socks. The SCSA logo shall appear on a patch on the upper left chest area.
11.Parental Involvement: Due to the volunteernature of SCSA Select, the success of our program is dependent on a high degree of involvement and support on the part of the parents.
12.Code of Conduct: All parents, coaches,trainers and any other person associated with SCSA Select shall be shown andgiven the opportunity to copy the SCSA Mission Statement, Operating Procedures and Code of Conduct. They will agree, in writing, to conduct themselves in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Mission Statement, Operating Procedures, and Code of Conduct and to endeavor toensure that other persons do likewise.
