Scorepedoes?
Shakespeare posed the question "what's in a name?" Indeed, what's with the name "Scorepedoes?" It's a question we are asked all the time. The name Scorepedoes was first coined when this team was formed as a Travel Team at U-9. Two of the players volunteered they were like Torpedoes blasting down the field on breakaways. If they scored they became a "Scoring Torpedo." It wasn't much of a leap to Scorepedoes from that point. Although many of the original players have moved on, the players on the team have voted to retain the name over the years. Many people, opponents and spectators alike, have commented on how distinctive the name is and how they remember it from previous enounters. We are proud that people remember the unusual name and the outstanding play of the team.
