About Stanwood Youth Football
Stanwood Youth Football is dedicated to providing the best football program to the community. We currently belong to the WesCo Youth Football League. This league consists of 4 divisions, in which we participate in all four. They are Senior (grades 7-8), Junior (grades 5-6), 89er (grades 3-4) and Pee-Wee (grades K-2). The goal is to give ballplayers the oppurtunity to play against kids of the same age and weight range while having the finest adult supervision possible.

Season begins with veteran registration sent out during the month of March. Open registration is in May and early June. Equipment issue is in July and the first practice is held the first day of August.

Each team plays 8 regular season games with an opportunity to move to the play-offs wich consist of 2 more games..

Games are held on a regulation football field with 10 minute quarters and a 8 minute half.

SYF is dedicated to instructing discipline, responsibility, sportsmanship, respect as well as the fundementals of tackle football. The foundation of SYF is conditioning and fundemental football.

SYF is a non-profit organization on file with the State of Washington and is completly run by volunteers. SYF is governed by a President/Commissioner and a Board of 4 people. For these people, the football season runs 12 months a year with the busy months being Febuary to November.

Coaches, Chain Gang, Board Members, Concessions, Field Preperation is all done by volunteers. If your interested in investing some time, please contact SYF.

SYF believes that ballplayers should participate in a number of sports. SYF does not endorse the concept of a young athelete participating in a "year around" sport. Young athelets shoul participate in nemerous sports to become a well rounded individual. Also SYF believes that Football is not for everyone.

Thank you in your interest in Stanwood Youth Football.

WesCo Jr. Football League
The WESCO JR Football League consists of teams from communities all around Snohomish County. In the WJFL, teams are formed by grade and age just like other sports, not age and weight. Example, 6 & 7 year olds have their own teams and are not forced to play with 9 year olds. Also heavier kids are not forced to play with much older and more mature players. We offer 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, and 7th & 8th grade teams for children 6-14 years old.
The WJFL is a non-profit league dedicated to developing kids into football players. WJFL teams are dedicated to teaching sportsmanship, discipline, self control and the proper fundamentals of football. Many of todays best players at the local high schools were once players in the WJFL! Our league spans from Edmonds to Stanwood and serves over 1200 kids.
