Welcome to the home of Science Hill Cheerleading. We are driven to promote school spirit and fan loyalty through sporting events, pep rallies, good sportsmanship, and community service. Our Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, and Eighth-grade cheerleaders attend mandatory cheer clinics for two days followed by judging on the third day. In addition to supporting our football and basketball program, our cheerleaders host various fund-raising efforts throughout the year to maintain the success of our cheerleading program.
The SHHS Cheerleading program is supported by Principal, Dr. John Boyd; Vice Principal, Dr. Catherine Edwards; and Athletic Director, Keith Turner. Coaches and sponsors include Rose Marie Hilton, Sarah McKinney, Melissa Cutlip, Amy Howard, and Michelle Vaughn.

CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS SPRING 2009
In order for a student to tryout for any SHHS cheerleading squad, a parent, guardian, or adult over the age of 18 must attend the scheduled meeting for that particular grade. At these scheduled meetings, numbered packets containing all information, application and tryout requirements will be issued and signed out to the student and adult in attendance.
TRYOUTS FOR 8th & 9th GRADE SQUAD
A required parent/student meeting will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 6pm in the SHHS 10/12 Cafeteria for all 7th & 8th grade parents and their 7th and 8th grade students who wish to try out for the SHHS 8th and 9th Grade Cheerleading Squad. It is important to be on time for the required parent and student meeting. Required try out clinics will be held on Monday, March 23rd and Tuesday, March 24th in the Auxiliary Gym at Freedom Hall from 3:30pm – 6:30pm. Informal tryouts will be held Wednesday, March 25th and formal tryouts will be held on Thursday, March 26th from 3:30pm – 6:30pm in the Auxiliary Gym at Freedom Hall.
TRYOUTS FOR VARSITY & JUNIOR VARSITY SQUAD
A required parent/student meeting will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2009 at 7:30pm in the SHHS 10/12 cafeteria for all freshman, sophomores and juniors who wish to try out for the SHHS Varsity & Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad. It is important to be on time for the required parent and student meeting. Informal tryouts will be held Wednesday, March 25th, and formal tryouts will be held on Thursday, March 26th from 3:30pm – 6:30pm in the SHHS 10/12 Gym.
If school is dismissed due to weather, meetings will be rescheduled and posted in the daily announcements and school web site: WWW.JCSCHOOLS.ORG/SHHS. All forms and physicals must be completed and submitted to Janet Phillips between the hours of 7am – 12noon or 1pm - 3pm in Room 502 by 3pm on Friday, March 6th , 2009. Forms and physicals will not be accepted at any other location. Parent Signatures are required when turning in forms and physicals.
