BERNIE VARNADORE HONORED POSTHUMOUSLY BY DIXIE BOYS/MAJORS BASEBALL
South Carolina Dixie Boys Baseball lost one of its pioneers and most dedicated people when Boys Assistant State Director Bernie Varnadore passed away. As Chairman of the Dixie Boys National Scholarship Committee, Bernie was instrumental in setting the standards that make the Dixie Boys Scholarship program what it is today.
Bernie was honored posthumously as a lifetime member of the Dixie Boys Baseball, Inc. Board of Directors. Also, the Dixie Boys Scholarship Program will now be known as the Dixie Boys Baseball, Bernie Varnadore Scholarship Program.
Bernie will be missed by all who loved him and cherished his friendship. His legacy will be shared with 11 young people who reap the rewards of his work each year by their earning of a Dixie Boys scholarship.
