Welcome to Southern Chester County Babe Ruth League!
SCCBRL Cal Ripken Baseball, a Division of Babe Ruth League, Inc. Trying to keep baseball FUN, especially in the early stages of youth baseball, is a primary concern of Babe Ruth League's Cal Ripken Division which is comprised of Major, Minor, Rookie, and T-Ball Divisions.
We offer baseball programs for children between the ages of 4-12 (must be 4 by January 1st). We offer an educational program that teaches the fundamentals of baseball and progresses into the knowledge of a competitive sport. Our coaches specialize in teaching children the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and most importantly having FUN! Our players are local to Coatesville, West Caln, Valley, East Fallowfield, Highland, West Sadsbury, Sadsbury, Valley, West Fallowfield, and Westwood areas. We are hopeful that you will have your baseball player pursue their baseball career with the Southern Chester County Babe Ruth League.
- Majors: Most experienced level of Cal Ripken Baseball, recommended for 11 and 12 year old players. Cal Ripken Baseball is played under the Official Baseball Rules, but implements some special rules as necessary for the development and welfare of this young age group.
- Minor: Recommended for 9 and 10 year olds. Among teammates of their own age and experience level, players continue building and refining their fundamental skills while they begin to understand game strategy.
- Rookie: Designed primarily for 7 and 8 year olds. By controlling the pitches with a pitching machine, there is more action at the plate and in the field. Fear of being hit by a pitched ball is diminished.
- T-Ball: A program recommended for 4, 5, and 6 year olds to teach the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. A tee is used when needed for players.

SCCBRL Spring 2010 Season!
Spring is almost here and it is almost time to play baseball ... if the snow would just get off the fields!
We would like to start out and thank you all for having your children play in the Southern Chester County Babe Ruth League. We are looking forward to another great season. Our league continues to grow as we have over 175 T-ball and Rookie players and this year we have 6 Minor teams and 3 Major teams.
This year was our first year in having assessments for those new Minor and Majors players and then having a draft. These rosters have already been completed and parents should be contacted by the end of this week.
We are in the process of completing the T-ball and Rookie rosters. These rosters will be completed by this week and T-ball and Rookie parents will be contacted by March 20, 2010.
We are hopeful to be able to get on the fields for the Minor and Major teams the middle of March and for T-ball and Rookie the beginning of April but a lot is dependent on the fields. We will be having a few Field Crew days prior to Opening Day and will need A LOT of help this year.
As some of you may know we are doing a Yankee Candle Fund Raiser this year and it is a very short turnaround (April 1st). We recognize this is a short time period but in order to have the candles in by Mother's Day it is needed. Thank you for your understanding!

Again, we are looking forward to a great season and we would like to thank our coaches in advance for volunteering your time and parents for having your children play ball with us this year.

If anyone is interested in helping with league activities, such as Opening Day, Picture Day, Field Day, or something else please let us know or come to a meeting. All SCCBRL monthly meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Pomeroy Fire Company at 7 p.m.
