INFORMATION FOR COACHES
BRACKET: 

 

The TOP team in the bracket is the home team. Home team should be prepared to wear light jerseys. However, the SCBLIS strongly urges teams to bring both home and away jerseys to all games in the event colors conflict (such as yellow travel uniforms and yellow home uniforms) or one team brings wrong jerseys.

 

Times listed on the bracket are Central Standard Time.

 

Each day’s games will start at the indicated time. Tip-times the remainder of the day will vary but every effort will be made to stay as close to schedule as possible.  In most cases, teams will be given 15 minutes to warm-up between games. 

 

On the final day, games will start at the indicated time on the schedule unless weather related concerns arise.

 

HOTEL ACCOMENDATIONS FOR OUT-OF-AREA TEAMS: 

For teams that are staying per contract, the Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green is the host hotel. Coaches should contact the Holiday Inn to conform arrival time. Coaches are responsible for securing any additional rooms needed beyond the terms of the SCBLIS contract. The phone number is 270-745-0088. You can also email the hotel at plaza.sales@jgh.com

 

 

Parents traveling with teams are encouraged to contact the hotel for information on a special rate available.

 

 

HOME TEAM: 

 

The home team on the bracket will set on the bench Allen County-Scottsville’s uses as home during regular season ball games. When facing the scorer’s table from mid court, the right handed bench is the home bench.

Exception: Allen County-Scottsville has the option of using the home bench for each of their games (even games in which they are wearing their traveling uniforms).

 BASKETBALLS:

Warm-up basketballs (six per team) will be provided by Allen County-Scottsville.

 

WATER:

 

The SCBLIS will provide water on each bench. However, each team MUST PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL WATER BOTTLES OR CUPS.

 

OTHER BENCH/GAME SUPPLIES:

 

Teams must provide their own tape, markers, towels, coaching boards, etc.

 

VIDEO TAPING OF GAMES:

 

Teams may video their games for instruction purposes. Taping is done from the upper-deck near mid court. An electrical outlet is close by.

 

LINE-UP INFORMATION:

 

The SCBLIS will provide line-up cards to all coaches on the first day. Coaches are asked to use these line-up cards to submit their official line-up prior to each game. Line-up cards need to be turned in at the scorers’ table by the end of the 3rd quarter of the game proceeding your scheduled game (or 30 minutes prior to the start of the day’s first game.)

Coaches should always check each line-up card and sign the card.

 

 PRACTICE:

 

Teams are “on-their own” with regard to sites for shoot-arounds during the tournament.

DRESSING ROOMS:

Teams will be assigned dressing rooms by tournament officials. The SCBLIS will have security on-site. However, the SCBLIS is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

OFFICIAL SCORER AND TEAM SCORERS:

The SCBLIS will provide an official scorer for each game. However, in the event that a scorer is not available at the last moment due to unforeseen events, the home team’s scorekeeper will serve as official scorer. Space will be provided near each bench for a team’s bookkeeper.

TIMER:

The SCBLIS will provide an official timer for each game.

STATS:

 

The SCBLIS will provide official, computer-generated stats for each game. Stats will be printed and handed out at halftime and following each game. Coaches may pick-up final stat copies at the media table located along press row (typically near the ACS locker room). The SCBLIS will also make every  effort to have space available for teams who wish to do their own stats however, please note---due to space limitations at the scorer’s table----this location may be in the radio area at the top of the lower-level bleachers.

RADIO:

Allen County-Scottsville High School has three phone lines for radio stations to use. Phone lines are direct dial. Numbers will be listed in the gym. The broadcast area is located at the top of the lower-level bleachers behind the scorer’s table. Space is available for four radio stations to set up at one time. Teams with radio stations should contact Don Meador at 270-622-8551 prior to the tournament for more information. Radio personal should have proper ID to present at the gate prior to entrance. Please ask for Don Meador to receive an official tournament media package.

NEWSPAPERS:

 

Press Row (for working media members only) is located on the south end of Patriot Gym. Media members will receive stats following each game and may pick-up extra stats at the media table at the end of press row. Newspapers must present proper ID at the front gate prior to entrance. Please ask for Don Meador to receive an official tournament media package. Please note….flash photography is at the discretion of the KHSAA officials; photographers should be prepared to shoot without flash if asked to do so.

 

HOSPITALITY ROOM:

 

The SCBLIS will have a hospitality room for the following individuals ONLY:

Participating Coaches

High School Coaches with a valid Coaches Card

College Coaches

Media.

VIP’s

Tournament Staff and Officials

 
  • PLAYERS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE HOSPITALITY ROOM.
  • NO ONE UNDER 18 IS PREMITTED IN THE HOSPITALITY ROOM                     (Exception to this rule is working SCBLIS staff members)
  • ALL TOURNAMENT PASSES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE.
 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: 

 

The SCBLIS will select an all-tournament team. Coaches along with designated SCBLIS staff members can vote for the all-tournament team. Coaches will receive ballots and further instructions on voting upon arrival at the tournament. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament.

COLLEGE COACHES:

 

Information regarding the tournamnt has been fowarded to over 75 college programs, ranging from D-I national powers to junior colleges.
