The Alliance is more than a softball team as the players contribute to the community both on and off the field. The team hosts the yearly Wally Karp Memorial Tournament in Tustin where proceeds fund college scholarships for local students in the name of Wally Karp, the only officer ever killed in the line of duty in Tustin. The Alliance, in association with Easton and Softball Magazine, hosts the World Series of Police Softball in Palm Springs which is an event that served as the proverbial golden spike to unite law enforcement softball from coast to coast. Team members Del Pickney and Jeff Blair also operate the national website www.policesoftball.com which has become the official undisputed source of law enforcement tournament softball. Jeff is also a contributing editor for the nationally acclaimed Softball Magazine www.softballmag.com and contributes a monthly article titled the, Cop Corner.
Feel free to navigate the site, check the player profiles and latest news and please visit our sponsor page. Our sponsors are our MVPs! In 2006 the Alliance inked a partnership with Easton and we proudly use and endorse Easton products.
In 2007 the Alliance had one of the greatest years in law enforcement softball history as they won 6 out of the 8 tournaments they played in and posted an impressive 59-5 record on the season. The team never finished lower than second place in any tournament they played in and capped the season by going a perfect 8-0 to win the World Series of Police Softball. The team did the improbable in 2008 when they went 50-5 and won 5 out of the 7 tournaments they played in including Vegas Bacon Ball, West Covina Bring Ur Real Skilz, West Palm Beach Florida, Sterling Heights Michigan USSSA Championship and managed to repeat as World Champions in the Policesoftball.com World Series. They became the first team to ever claim the title in consecutive years! Wait until you see what they have in store for 2009...
Thank you,
The SoCal Alliance/Easton
