SCA Finishes 5-4 at UNC Team Camp
After finishing with a 2-7 record in our first visit to the University of North Carolina's Team Camp in 2006 we returned from this year's camp (July 12-14th) with a 5-4 mark. Completing the camp with a winning record was yet another first for our program. After going 2-4 through our first 6 contests we won our last 3, putting together by far the best display of team basketball we played all week. We closed out the camp with a win over Johnson County High School from Tennessee, who had been voted the Best Offensive Team from our league for the week. A great defensive effort, which has become a Lady Eagles trademark, kept Johnson County's offense in check in a 32-21 win.
We want to say congratulations to the girls for their great week of camp and also thank you to the coaches, parents, and chaperones that made our trip to Chapel Hill such a success.
Lady Eagles Receive Honors
After the conclusion of the 2006-07 season, the Seaford Christian Academy basketball team members received several awards honoring their achievements. Six Lady Eagles were chosen to play in the PACC All Star Game on March 3rd, and three of those were selected as PACC All Conference performers. Nikki Meredith and Jennifer Carr made 1st Team All PACC while Rachel Ebling was selected to the 2nd team. Julia Carr, Rebekah Cain, and Brooke Coppage were also chosen to accompany them to the All Star Game this weekend. Congratulations ladies!

SCA Finishes Historic Season As PACC Champs
After a successful first season under coach Chester Davis and his staff, Seaford Christian Academy's girls basketball team began the 2006-07 season with high expectations and the desire to put our program back on the map in the Peninsula Athletic Christian Conference. It's doubtful that even the most optimistic of the group could have imagined how this season would play out. After defeating longtime rival Greenwood Mennonite 38-27 in the PACC Championship game February 23rd, the Lady Eagles concluded the season with a 21-1 record, finishing undefeated (12-0) in the PACC for the first time in school history. Only 2 seasons removed from a 3-14 campaign, SCA achieved several other milestones such as sweeping each of the perennial contenders Greenwood Mennonite (3-0), Salisbury Christian (3-0), and Holly Grove Christian (2-0) for the first time and also recording the first 20-win season in program history. The only blemish on SCA's mark this season was a loss to Heritage Academy from Hagerstown, Maryland in the championship game of the Washington Bible College Holiday Tournament held in early January.
This season serves as a reminder that when a group of people set out to achieve something and give themselves completely to the team and accomplishing that goal, anything is possible. Though the championship was officially clinched by beating GMS on the 23rd, it was actually won by our girls in the offseason. By attending the University of North Carolina's Team Camp and taking it upon themselves to continue to work after returning from it, we decided then that we were going to do whatever it took to bring a championship back to SCA. Now that we've accomplished that, the question is........
IS 1 CHAMPIONSHIP ENOUGH?
