Things to watch for in the 2011 season by George Husby
Players are encouraged to try to make all games. It is hard to keep switching things around to compensate for missing players. Players only get to play Legion for a short length of time and should put Legion ahead of other activities. Last year I think players missing got out of hand and caused problems on the team. Also, we encourage players to play as many sports as they can during their High School career and not try to specialize. Very few athletes obtain scholarships and some area athletes who do obtain Athletic Scholarships played three sports while in High School such as Chris Greisen, Nick Greisen, Jake Bscherer, Al Johnson and Ben Johnson. Also, our High Schools are getting smaller and all athletes are needed to fill out all of the teams. By George Husby

Coincidence
Manager George Husby coincidentally ran into former Manitowoc Legion Player Mike Rady who played against The Bays in 2000 and 2001. Mikes best friend is Bruce Karnitz who he got to know at Oshkosh in College. Bruce played for SB Legion from 1998 until 2000. Mike remembered a lot about the games between the two teams back then.
