Saddle Brook Lacrosse: Welcome

Whoo Hoo!!!! I smell Springtime coming. I attended the scheduling meeting last night and the boys scheduling is complete. I tried to keep up to a WED/SAT/SUN schedule as much as possible. There is 1 Tuesday game, 1 Thursday game, 4 Friday, none on Monday!!!!
I think it worked out well. I took a different approach in the level of games we play. We stayed away from the "A" Teams this year if a program had that. Every Program we booked this year should be a good game. If the game is rained out, I will probably not be making them up. Hence why you see the number of games. This will make sure that you do not ruin the plans you may have because I scheduled a make up game. I hope you are all pumped like me. This will be a blast.
The 7/8th grade boys will notice "Split Squad" games. We have so many kids in this bracket we are going to do something different this year. The coaches will break the teams down for those games into 2 BALANCED squads. This will ensure the players get plenty of time. Also, we will ask players to choose a small handful of games where they will not be able to attend. There are a ton of games scheduled for them, so they should be able to just miss a few. this way they will not miss that Babe Ruth Game, family function, etc... I will have more details for that group in the weeks ahead after I meet with the Mark Van and his coaching staffs.
So, take a peek at the link labeled "BOYS GAMES" and start putting them on your calendar.

Its time to start thinking about fun in the snow. January 15th,Friday night from 7-10pm, we are off to Campgaw for some Skiing and Tubing. We have reserved 75 Tubing spots from 8-10pm and we have unlimited spots for Skiing and Snowboarding. We had so much fun last year, that we are doing it again!!!!! Email Susan Giammanco (putty921@aol.com) if you are interested. We are really hoping mother nature cooperates with us and gives us some snow that night before. Its $18 for tubing and $21 for Skiing or Snowboarding. You will be responsible to bring or rent your own skis or snowboard stuff.

I am proud to say that Saddle Brook Lacrosse will be present at the Grand Opening of the New Giants stadium as we head there for the Big City Classic on April 10th. Games are scheduled throughout the day and we expect to do A LOT of TAILGATING!!!! We did this last year and everyone had so much fun that we are doing it again.
Teams Scheduled are the same as last year. 5 of the Top 10 in the country will be on hand in 3 different games. Included in it will be Princeton, Syracuse, North Carolina, Hofstra, Delaware, and Virgina !!!!! It doesn't get much better than that. Tickets will be free to all of our Saddle Brook Lacrosse players. Everyone else is $15 per ticket.
Email me if you are interested in coming with us. Be a part of the fun and hang with us and every other surrounding Lacrosse program at the games. Players should bring their sticks for when we are in the lot.

We are poised for another great season as we move into our 4th year. So much is planned and it will be posted on here in the coming days ahead. We already have approx 100 kids signed up and it sounds like we will grow more than that very quickly. It is a great sport and EVERY CHILD gets ALOT of time in every game. Come join in on the fun.

Registration for our program has been pretty good so far. The numbers for some grades are growing still. So far the travel teams look like this:
Girls : 3rd/4th/5th grade team and a 6th/7th/8th Grade team
Boys: 3rd/4th/5th grade team, a 6th grade team, and a 7/8th grade Team
We would love to get more of the younger ones and then the breakdown will be even better. Tell your friends in school to come and join us. I am going to try and work with other programs to see if we can get the schedules laid out so all can make the games if they are involved in other sports too. I can't promise that it will happen with all programs, but we will give it a shot.
