FALCONS Lacrosse WALK FOR AUTISM........FORMS DUE Next Saturday 5/12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On May 20th, we are looking for EVERY PLAYER to come with us and Walk for Autism as part of the Laps for Luke Team.  There is a special young man (Luke Calderone) in Saddle Brook who has to deal with this every day.   Being nieve to it, I had no idea how many people were impacted by this condition and how it impacts their family.

I alwasy felt that sports programs should prepare you for life. Well, how do you prepare for this???? What if your child was impacted by this?   I watch our boys hit that field every day and having such a great time.   A young child like Luke should have that same opportunity. However, he may not if people like us do not help.

So.....Here is what I am asking from everyone. I will be putting together a donation flyer. I am asking each of your boys to drum up $20 in sponsorship money. Then on May 20th (please do not make ANY PLANS), he will walk with his lacrosse teammates and over 5500 more people at Bergen Community College to raise awareness for Autism!!!!!!

PLEASE participate in this. This is a simple request that we should be involved in every year until a cure for this is found.

We are all very fortunate to watch our kids play in these activities.........I will be just as fortunate to see your son walk with me at Bergen Community in the WALK FOR AUTISM!!!!!!

Email me with any questions: sbjrlacrosse@hotmail.com

JV COMES THRU!!!!!!!!!!!

They did it.   You can see this coming if you watched the past few games.   The team was getting better and smarter in their play.   Well, tonight it all came together as they played a good Hawthorne team as they won 5-4 tonight at home.   Congrats to you all for the hard work you put in to get to this point.

Crooked Arrows Movie Night!!!!!!! Sunday, June 10th

On Sunday, June 10th, Falcons Lacrosse will invade the paramus movie theater to watch Crooked Arrows.   It is a movie on Lacrosse that is a cross of the Bad News Bears/Mighty Ducks/Hoosiers.   The preview of the movie was shown at the Big City Classic when we went and everyone seemed excited to see it.   So, I will put a form together once I secure a group ticket rate for the program and get it out to everyone.   We will probably take the earliest showing of the movie so the boys have the rest of the day to themselves or maybe we can all head somewhere for a BBQ or something.  I haven't figured that out yet.   Staytuned for more details

Possible Schedule Changes.....

Keep an eye on this website as there may be a few time changes on some of the games for a various number of reasons.   As of now, I possibly may change the times, not the date, of 2 dates.

Also, Coach Rob, has spoken to the Highlands coach about having a 7/8th grade game of just 1st year players.   I am working out the date and time for this game as it will be held in Highlands.  If this does get set, I will inform all asap

Updated Rules for Boys League (Gr 2 thru 8)

2011 NJJLL League Rules Breakdown

The NJJLL follows all NFHS rules with the below listed exceptions

New for 2011

1) Teams may only have 4 coaches on the sideline at all times.

2) 4th grade and below:

a. The team with possession must make one pass after crossing the midfield line:

i. If a team loses possession in its offense end and then regains possession no passes are need, this rule only applies if possession is gained in their defensive end and carried across mid field.

ii. The pass may originate from the defensive end but the player receiving the pass must be in their offensive half of the field.

b. No Long Poles, all sticks must be less than 42" long.

Existing NJJLL Rules:

? All games are 8 minute stop time quarters at all levels.

? All games at all levels shall have a pre-game on field lineup.

? Home team keeps time, official shall only keep time if requested by home team.

? Games shall not start before the assigned time

? If games are scheduled for 6:00pm and 7:30pm the second game starts at 7:30, NOT when the first game finishes.

? Body Contact

o No body contact permitted in 3rd or 4th grades, contact as per NFHS rules at all other levels
