About Our Organization:

The South Bay Diamond Girls (SBDG) organization began in 2004 with a 10U team built from recreation ball players that became very competitive on the travel ball circuit. As their successes mounted, the organization began to grow. The South Bay Diamond Girls now has 10U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams. Manager Lorraine Flores and an excellent, dedicated coaching staff built the organization from the ground up, organizing and teaching these young ladies how to play competitive Fast-Pitch Softball. There is a strong emphasis on academic excellence, good sportsmanship, positive behavior and on never giving up! Our team motto is: Play Hard or Go Home.

Now that the 18U Gold players are in high school, the focus has shifted to preparing them to be successful collegiate softball players. The team’s emphasis has expanded from high academic standards and competitive play to college recruiting. We have player profiles and videos available for college coaches (as well as Unofficial Transcripts) and will spend much of the coming summer in showcases and 18U Gold events. When we say we stress that the players be successful in the classroom, as well as on the field, we aren’t kidding. All players maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and are actively taking the tests required for college admission (SAT or ACT).
