Laxtravaganza - entertaining and exciting.
The weather was great once again and so was the fun, food and game action!
The day began with the boy's 7/8 Team Blue-White game. It was an entertaining battle with plenty of end to end action as the alumni and everyone in attendance got a peek at the future Sawyers.
The Laxtravaganza started off with last year's winners receiving their championship shirts and then the games began. The championship between the Odd and Even alumni went down to the wire as the Evens tied the score with less than 2 minutes to go but, the Odd team responded scoring two quick goals late to take the 2011 title 6-4.

“Our Game”
By Niko Polizzi
Looking beyond
The ancient goal posts that
Once provided a purpose of sport,
There is a field of memories,
Where countless battles have taken place,
Each with its own tale of triumph.
We remember our victories
And defend with pride, knowing
There are many battles to come.
These victories were well earned.
We ran ourselves far past exhaustion,
Lungs almost bleeding as a result
Of our vigorous routine.
Every practice was preparation,
Preparation for glory, and every dropped pass
Would haunt us until it reached
Perfection. Perfection that would carry over
to all aspects, on and off the field.
Every day is ours,
We can out play,
Over power,
Defeat, any challenges,
Any obstacles
Present.
We are strong, physically and
Mentally. The sky is the limit.
Potential is a word of the past.
Even if circumstances beyond
Our control appear.
We always persevere.
We are more than a team.
We are brothers!
We are family!
