Soccer Programs - Spring Soccer, Conditioning, and Skills Devlopment Partner

SVSL has partnered with Mario Barrantes, Director of Advanced Sports Development to provide a few different soccer program beginning this spring, to those looking for simply a place to play a little spring soccer, develop their soccer skills, or to workon soccer specific conditioning.

Mario is local - located at the old Lower Saucon Elementary School.  This is a perfect fit for Saucon Valley families.  Good training without the need to travel long distances.

This can also be an option for travel players looking to improve their skills, beyond what our traditional travel program can provide.  While most Preimier level soccer progams are in the $2000 plus range, you can play competative soccer with SVSL for about $200, and still add premier level training with Advanced Sports Development at a cost that will beat premier program costs.

Go to the handouts section for the flyer that has additional information on the program as well as contact information for Mario.

Need League Volunteers!

Dear SVSL Member,

Manny Tavormina had a vision of a youth soccer program in the Saucon Valley community.  In 1998, that vision came to light.  Manny along with other soccer enthusiasts in the community worked numerous hours to make soccer come alive in Saucon Valley and built what we know today as the Saucon Valley Soccer League (SVSL).   Manny and others knew it would take more than a handful of parents to keep this going.  They realized it will take a whole community of people.  It would take people who were in it for more than just their own children, and people who would serve the community and the vision of what the word community truly means.   Fortunately over the years there were many who followed in the footsteps of the first visionaries and have continued the work for the betterment of future players, some who just want to kick the ball around, and others who will go on to develop a passion for the game.

Since the league’s inception in 1998, SVSL has seen great success.  The SVSL program has grown to over 500 youth who participate in either the travel, intramural, or TOPSoccer programs.  Another measure of the success can be seen in the Saucon Valley High School Boys and Girls programs that consist of Colonial League Championships, District XI Success, and last year our girl’s team was a State semi-finalist.

SVSL is in need of more people to help continue the success of our programs.  Many of the SVSL board members have children that are high school age or older, and we need parents of younger children involved to ensure continued success.   You don’t have to be a soccer nut to help.  We can use help in a number of areas besides coaching.
