TEXAS "SPRING" FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The TFL is a San Antonio based league directed by Commissioner Robert Romo. Robert has worked together with the Thunder Organization in numerous ways to help in our goals in our inaugural season. He has given us five pre-season games in his league with our first game scheduled in early March. Romo works at Wal-Mart and helps in many community fundraisers through out the city to help those in need during the entire year, we feel proud to have him with us.
The TFL has existed for many years and has given players in the San Antonio area the chance to play football locally. Robert has had years of football experience and has participated as Public Relations Manager on the 1995 Championship team, where our co-owner Rolf Schaefer was also the leagues leading kicker with a total of 93 pts., including the leagues longest field goal of 57 yards. The San Antonio Chargers went undefeated and outscored all opponents by large margins. Mike Weaver, was head coach of the 95' Champion Chargers. Coach Weaver still lives in San Antonio and teaches at a local school.
