A MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW PRESIDENT:

Dear Parents, Coaches and players,

What a season we had this year! Our little Leaguers had a great time and learned to play some excellent baseball. One team I would like to recognize is the 2011 Ducks who won the Santa Ana City Tournament and took second place in Tournament of Champions.  They were coached by Dan Miles who has been coaching with the Santa Ana Northwest Little League for ten years now.  Congratulations Coach Dan, great job! We also had some visitors from Victoria Australia who came up and played some of our players in a couple of friendly baseball games. What a great time our players had. They got the opportunity to mingle with the Aussies and made some friends for life.

I would like to invite everyone to come down and see the renovations we made to our fields.  Thanks to the efforts of several of our sponsors and our board members we were able to get safety tubing put on all of the fencing on the lower division diamonds (the plastic yellow tube on the fence). We were also able to get have our Major and AAA diamonds renovated. By this I mean that they were completely leveled, laser graded and we had new bases put in. We had our fencing replaced on both the Major and the AAA diamonds and they look great!

In my experience I have found that it is easy to forget some of the people that make it possible for our park to operate. I would like to take a minute to thank some of our City employees for facilitating our efforts in maintaining our great baseball park.  Juan Lopez is the Park Manager in charge of our ball fields and I must say that he does a great job with the resources that he has. He is there on a regular basis making sure that our park is a safe, well lit facility for everyone to enjoy. Next I would like to thank the folks in the reservations office.  The supervisor Jose Lopez, Rosalio Gomez, Sonia Gonzalez, and Nancy Gallardo have put up with enough of my shenanigans and last minute cancellations to last them quite some time. They have been a tremendous asset and their efforts should be applauded.

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank all of our Board Members who put in a tremendous amount of effort in making 2011 a successful season. Jorge and Elsie Robles were two of our most avid supporters and they put so much effort into making the league a great place. Sylvia, you are the best snack bar coordinator in the world along with your helper Nicole. I could go on and on about all of the great board members that we have, but I think you might get tired of reading all of this.  Anyways, thank you board members for making this all possible and I know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed.

I look forward to the 2012 season and I know that it will be just as good as or better than 2011. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Respectfully,

Carlos Nava

President

Santa Ana Northwest Little League
