                   We have a new addition !

    We are pleased to announce that Joey Grant has joined our staff. Joey will be offering individual and group pitching lessons.

Rates will be at $30.00 an hour. $50.00 for 2 sessions. Inquire for group rates.

  Joey will be covering the entire pitching process. Mental part of pitching as well as all the fundamental mechanics of the position. 

    Joey played baseball in Santa Cruz County up until high school where he was a starting pitcher for Soquel High. He was 7-1 his senior year and got recruited to the College of San Mateo where he pitched 2 seasons recording an 18-4 overall record and receiving 2- 1st team all conference awards, while there, the team won back-to-back conference championships, and he helped them win 17 games in a row his sophomore year, a school record still holding today.

    He then received a scholarship to NAIA William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. His Junior year, he went 6-0 leading the pitching staff in wins (6), appearances (11) games started(10), innings (67), strikeouts(60), shutouts(3), he received a 1st team all conference award as well as an all region VII award. His senior year, he helped the team to a league title by leading them in appearances (16), shutouts(3), opponents batting average(.236). He tallied 10.1 strikeouts per/9 including a school record 14 strikeouts in 6 innings against Ashford University. After his graduation, he received a contract offer to play for the Gary Southshore Railcats of the Independent League.

     Joey received his degree from William Penn and is now married and living in Soquel.

              COOPERSTOWN 2012

 

Our 5th annual Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament was a complete success!  With a 13 man roster we invaded NY with everything we had and came out of it wronging all the doubters.  With no one giving SCMB baseball a chance to win ONE single game in the most competitive 12U baseball tournament in the entire country, SCMB baseball pulled away with 3 victories, even beating the defending North Carolina State Championship baseball team in a thrilling 8-5 playoff victory! Placing 59th out of 103 teams and having these kids experience this once and a life time event is something the kids will never forget! Congrats to the SCMB cooperstown baseball boys of 2009!!!

     Now that our 5th Cooperstown trip is fulfilled.  Coaches Joe Grant, Jeff Grant, and Brian Schofield have assembled another team.
