San Bernardino County Track and Field: Welcome

This site has been created to promote the hard work and dedication of track and field athletes in San Bernardino County.  The county has a rich tradition of excellence that deserves to be promoted.  The site has been designed to be a place for athletes, coaches and parents to get all their SB County prep track and field results and information.

Early Season Highlights

Sprint Depth At Rancho Cucamonga!  The Cougars are wishing the state meet would add a 8x100 Relay and soon.  They have a pair of 400 relay teams that went 1-2 at the Saddle Up Invitational and then torched the track in a league meet against Etiwanda.  One team just missed the County top 10 all-time list at 41.57, while the other ran 42.24.  It's not a surprise that they have 8 individuals that are listed on the top marks this season in the 100 meters, all under 11.50 wind-legal, led by Kalel Jackson.

Epic 300 Hurdles Race!  The Friday night edition of the California Relays featured an incredible early-season showdown in the boys 300 hurdles race.  What was billed as a rematch between State Champion Caleb Lutalo Roberson of Upland vs. CIF Champion Reyte Rash of ML King, was all that and more.  The more was provided by Los Osos' Oluwatobi Adegoke, who upset the CIF Champion and nearly upended Roberson as well for the second time this week.  After debuting at #9 in County history at a league meet in Upland on Tuesday, Adegoke came back and gave Roberson all he could handle, moving into a tie at #5 all-time in 37.31.  Roberson won in 37.24 while Rash came in 3rd in 37.53.  Upland's Namir Hemphill also ran well to improve to 39.31 giving the Baseline League a potent trio.

Studs Picking Their Spots!  Sultana's Robert Thompson busted out a wind-legal 10.95 in the 100 meters early on, but hasn't been too busy.  The same can be said for Rancho Cucamonga's Christopher Hill, who ran 48.83 early on and incidently was not part of either of those relays mentioned above.

Ramirez Dominating the Distances!  Ayala's Mikaela Ramirez is off to a hot start, with the top marks in all three distance events...and it's not even close.  2:14.59 in the 800, 5:00.37 in the 1600, and an eye-popping 10:32.67 in the 3200 meters.  None may be PR's, but they are all outstanding February-early March marks.

Fresh(men) Faces On the Scene!  Chino's Mia Chavez has posted solid marks of 2:19.27 in the 800 and 5:09.37 in the 1600.  Upland's Riley Rodriguez ran 11:18.11 in the invitational 3200 at the California Relays.  Upland has found another hurdler in Caelyn Harris, who ran 15.03 in the 100 meter variety...and oh, by the way, she just leaped over 20 feet at the California Relays to win the long jump (no wind info).  Redlands has a 5-1 high jumper in Kathryn Thompson while Ayala's Madeline Seifert has cleared 10-0 in the pole vault.

Weekly Wrap-Up Info

My spare time has diminished greatly this year and this website pays no bills...actually it is a bill...and so FYI, the write-ups each week will be scaled back to the bigger meets.  However, the lists and records will be kept as they usually have.
