Try-outs 

San Antonio Juniors Try-out dates are set for Wednesday, July 6th, Thursday, July 7th, Monday, July 11th, Tuesday, July, 12th and Wednesday July 13th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Registration begins at 6pm.

Location: Factory of Champions, 8227 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209. Near 410 and Broadway.

14s and 17s try-outs to be held on Wednesday, July 6th.

15s and 16s try-outs to be  scheduled soon.

Try-out fee: $45.00.  

Try-out Registration forms will be provided on site, 30 minutes prior to try-outs.

 Coaches

Coach Tiffany Bibby wiill Coach the San Antonio Juniors 16s or 17s.

Coach Bibby is a 2003 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio. She spent five years in Florida coaching volleyball at Zephyrhills High School. She finished her final three years at Zephyrhills as the head varsity coach, earning back-to-back North Suncoast Conference Coach of the Year awards, the 2006 St. Petersburg Times Coach of the Year award, and was the Tampa Tribune All- Area Coach of the Year in 2007. She moved back to San Antonio to assist in opening Lady Bird Johnson High School, and after two years joined the remarkable staff at Wagner High School.

 

Brenda Virjan will coach 14s or 16s for the upcoming 2011-12 club season. About Brenda Virjan:  Native from Laredo Texas, graduated 78’ from Nixon High School and lettered in volleyball, basketball, and track.  Was named all district in all sports and Athlete of The Year.  Played and Graduated 80’ from St. Philips Junior College. Made All Conference as a freshman and during her sophomore year All Region and 2nd team All American...NCAA.  After several offers were made, Brenda decided to attend at Angelo State University. Started and played her junior and senior year. Last year of college, went to Colorado for the NAIA National Tournament and placed 5th.made All National Tournament and All American her Senior Year. Graduated 82’ from Angelo State where she was invited to tryouts for the US team and ended up training with the team, (1982-85).Assisted with starting Alamo, Mission City, River City, SA Heat. Alamo 1983 for 8 years, qualified for National every year. Mission City 2 years went to National won silver for 12s and 13s placed 2nd in Gold. River City...14s - 5th in Gold and 15s - 5 Gold. SA Heat-16s placed 3rd in Gold - Kentucky. Brenda is a solid on fundamental type coach.  She also coached various teams of the age 15, won the Tour of Texas 1st at Lone Star Region. In 2009 and 2010 Brenda has coached with Superior Sports.Brenda’s profession with volleyball includes several juniors and seniors to compete in D1 and D2 Collegiate Schools. Some receiving partial and or full scholarships. Brenda: “That's always been my goals to furthering their educations and prepping ready for college ball”. About Coach Brian Funk:

Brian Funk joined San Antonio Juniors Volleyball Club with 32 years of coaching experience and as a club director.  Beginning with middle school, high school, university, USAV and Club Championship expertise. He received 2 appointments from USA Volleyball to coach in the US Olympic Festival. 1993 as the assistant of the West team located in San Antonio and 1994 as the head coach of the South team located in St. Louis, Mo. As a member of the Texas Stars won a USAV National Championship in Dallas. Both Camps and 17s National team will be coached by Brian Funk, one of the top volleyball coaches in and around the surrounding states of Texas.

2011 Club Season

San Antonio Juniors 171 place in the top five at the Lone Star Classic Tournament, National Division in Dallas, Texas.

San Antonio Juniors 171 place second in the Eclipse April Trouanment in Cedar Park.

Congratulations to the San Antonio Juniors 171 for winning First Place at the PNQ National Qualifier National Division.  Tournament was held on March 25th, 26th and 27th in Spokane, Washington.  San Antonio Juniors will now be attending the 32nd Annual USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships (Formerly USA Junior Olympic Girls' Volleyball Championships).  GJNC will be held on June 25 - July 4, 2011 at Georgia World Congress Center - 285 Andrew Young International Blvd, NW - Atlanta, GA  30313-1591.

San Antonio Juniors 171 took Second Place in the February 12th and 13th 2011 Tour of Texas Power League Stop 1 Division II. Tournament was held in Frisco, Texas.

San Antonio Juniors 171 took First Place in the February 5th  Elite Volleyball Performance #3 18s tournament.

San Antonio Juniors 171 Qualify for the Tour of Texas Power League, held on January 22nd and 23rd 2011.

San Antonio Juniors 171 Ranks in the TOP 7 in the January 8th and 9th 2011 Tour of Texas Power League Warm Up.

San Antonio Juniors 171 take First Place in the AOA WB December 12th 2010 Tournament.
