Welcome to the Salem Pioneer Little League Web site

Handshake2008 will be the 38th season for Salem Pioneer Little League -
Salem's oldest Little League.

Welcome to Salem Pioneer Little League’s 38th Season!

President’s Corner

Another season is truly underway, with three successful registrations signing up over 350 players! Much has been going on behind the scenes in preparation for our Opening 2008 season. I believe that we are ready to provide all of our participants with another fun filled season of baseball and softball.

We will be opening the season by having our Opening Ceremonies at Adam Stephens on April 5th from 11:00am until 1:00pm. At this time all the Teams will be introduced. Players should come dressed in their uniforms. During the ceremonies a big Barbeque Lunch will be held from 11:00am until 3:00pm. So bring your appetites. Our majors and juniors will begin their season. Also, there will be an assortment of “Greenware” to purchase. Let’s get into the spirit of Pioneer. Our Pancake Breakfast along with pictures are scheduled for April 12th.

Again, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome each and every one of you to our 2008 season. This season will be an opportunity for all of us to meet, teach and learn. We all are here because we share a common interest and that is the love of the game of baseball and softball. But most importantly we care about the young players that wear a uniform, pick up a bat and glove and take the playing field with pride and enthusiasm. Teaching basics, sportsmanship and making sure that each player has an opportunity to have a good time should be our game plan. So as we move together into this season, I offer my best wishes for success to all and may you all have a productive and memorable experience this year. If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.Francisco Tavera Sr., SPLL President
