Parents

In case of inclement weather -- 2 hours prior to the event, please check the website or your email inbox

We are always looking for parents to help coach. Even if you don't know anything about the game of lacrosse we will teach and assist you

We ask the following of ALL parents:

  • Arrive on time to practices and especially when picking up
  • Don't check your son's bag - assist him while HE checks HIS OWN BAG!
  • Have your son practice at home with both hands
    • Work on the wall - passing/catching
    • Cradling
    • Ground balls

We need as much advance notice of dates for the following:

  • Spring Breaks for non-catholic schools
  • Class trips
  • Confirmations
  • Graduations - 8th grade and high school

We will need volunteers to help at home games:

  • Set-up/Tear down
  • Scoring table
    • Time keeper
    • Horn
    • Score book
  • Photos taken during the game

Finally, we want to remind everyone that these are competitive teams with no 50% play rule! On the JV team will try to get everyone in the games.

We will work with the boys but we want them to show improvement in stick skills. Practicing at home on stick work goes a long way. We will expect them to understand game expectations as we have explained and showed to them

Parents always want to know how we determine the line their son is on. We mainly base our decision on the following criteria: ability to use both hands (in passing on the move, catching on the move, cradling and ground balls) as well as their game recognition skills (understanding offensive/defensive situations, dodging and off-ball movement). This is the criteria applied in high school! Please understand that we are always trying to find the right mix to get the best team out on the field

The coaching staff will work with anyone to improve, remind your son not to be afraid to ask for help

The coaches see who has been practicing and who has not, it does show in our team practices and in games!

"Getting together is a start, remaining together is advancement, working together is an achievement"
