PROGRAM HISTORY: The Bromley Heath Cheer & Dance Program took form in 2002, as a series of summer dance clinics, under the direction of Shawanda Patterson; and revitalized in September ‘02, to competed in their first competition. In 2003 the BHCD members chose the nick-name Lady Saints, and as the program grew, new teams took form (Saints Mighty Mites, Saints Pee-Wees, Hip-Hop All-Stars, Saints Senior and Saints Stars). The Saints All-Star Cheerleaders are the 1st and only competitive cheer and dance program in JP, MA (outside of school sanctioned programs), recognized throughout New England for their routines, and as one of the trendsetters in competitive cheer & dance.
Since 2004, the Saints All-Stars have received top honors at the Universal Cheerleaders Association Cheer Camp; team members each year have become UCA All-stars & performed at the Annual Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade; and received an invitation to perform at the Capital One College Football Bowl in Orlando, FL. Teams compete annually, and place at local & regional competitions. On December 17, 2005 the program received a City Resolution from the Boston City Council; and August 1, 2006 Coach Shawanda Patterson received an award from the Boston Police Department District E-13 for "Outstanding service to the Youth in the District 13 Neighborhoods." In 2007, The Saints Senior Team received the UCA Leadership Award at summer camp. This was the second time they were chosen for this honor.
