FALL BASEBALL
League Web site for the Bergen County Fall Baseball program that is organized by Saddle Brook, New Jersey

Towns Participating in the 2007 season
The following towns are Committed to the 2007 Season:
Saddle Brook/Fair Lawn
Wood-Ridge
Secaucus
Elmwood Park
Bogota
Lyndhurst
Garfield

Why is it 9-12 and not a minors and majors division????

Fall baseball is quickly approaching. A lot of people are asking what the league will do this year in terms of age breakdown. Many like the 9-12 group and others are looking for a minors and majors split. After much thought, I think we should keep it the way it is since some towns may not be able able to field a full team of the one age group who wouldv'e played otherwise. Also, it is possible that some towns will then have a field issue as they may have almost double the games due to this. That would then mean a higher cost for the towns. I do not want to go down that road. We have had this league in place for quite a few years now and only know of one incident that you may say can be a direct result of the older kid playing against the younger kid.I think we can modify the rules a bit to avoid the incident and if every coach works together more and not look at every game as a championship game we should be ok.

Most importantly is this is an INSTRUCTIONAL league.

Coaches: PLEASE READ
It is not all about winning every game. Please keep this in mind. There were games I was involved in (others told me too) where coaches are screaming at the kids as well as arguing with other coaches on the side. Please do your best to eliminate this. Teach the kids as much as you can during the 2 months of games. Keeping a child's interest in baseball these days is much harder than when we were kids. I look forward to seeing you all again and am ready for another fun year. If youknow of anyone interested in joining the league, feel free to forward this and my email address. The more the merrier. Make the scheduling easier too.

Check out the LINKS section
There are a bunch of good baseball sites in the LINKS section. Click on the menu to the left of this to access it. There is informationon the local teams as well as history, hall of fame, games, etc....
If you know of a good site to add and you think others will enjoy it, email me and I will put them on the site. (adamjeffdad@hotmail.com)

What type of league are we?

- This league was formed to help promote and instruct the game of baseball
- It is not setup for a training area for an all-star team for the following season.
- It is meant to be fun and instructional.
- All mgrs and coaches involved work together to make each night as enjoyable as possible for the kids.
- The reputation is the league is better than their normal spring league and that must remain as a goal this season.
- All towns will discourage the screaming and yelling at the children and umpires. They will coach the child on what was wrong and congratulate what went right.
- Questions can be emailed to Manny Scarangella at adamjeffdad@hotmail.com
