Sachem Swim Club: Coach Scott's Corner

Saturday, July 28

As many of you know I am planning on stepping down as Head Coach at the end of next year.  That is not to say I am retiring.  I plan to continue coaching at Sachem with the Juniors or Advanced group for quite some time.  I have always loved coaching and want to continue as long as my body and health permit me.

This coming year is going to be exciting and a challenge.  We will be welcoming many swimmers from Northshore and I know we will welcome them into our family.  We have already welcomed many during the summer.  We also expect to have a large turn out for our tryouts this Olympic year.  Remember these young swimmers are our future.  Our job is to make them feel welcome, and give them the tools and guidance to be the best they can be.

Along with the NS swimmers we have retained several if their coaches Coach Ely, Coach Malori, and Coach Connor.  We have also hired Coach Jessica and Meghan.  I am sure you will make them feel at home.  On a sad note for us Coach Heather has found a job in North Carolina and we wish her the best.  She will be missed.  GOOD LUCK HEATHER.

As the year winds down we have had many JO and Zone swimmers and a Sectional and High School AllAmerican.  Great job swimmers and Coaches. Our goal is to increase those numbers greatly next year.

The fact that I plan to step down as Head Coach does not mean I am not taking my job serious.  I have great expectations for next year and goals that we will work very hard to attain. Every swimmer and coach must be on board, no exceptions.  We are planning an ELITE TEAM that every swimmer should stive to be on.

In closing I want to thank the Board, the LADIES  that made all our functions great, and all the wonderful parents.  Finally keep the following dates free, Relay Carnival Oct 13 week end and Counties April 12 th and 13 th.  These are mandatory meets for those chosen.

Enjoy the rest of the summer.  You have worked hard and deserve the break.  GOOD LUCK TO OUR JO AND ZONE SWIMMERS

Mr. Scott
