Sachem Swim Club: Coaches

Katie Dugan was a member of the Sachem Swim Club for 14 years. While a member of the team Katie qualified for JOs, Senior Mets and Zones on a yearly basis. Katie was also a member of the Sachem Varsity Swim team for 5 years, where she was an All-County/All-League swimmer. Katie attended East Carolina University, where she was a member of their division I swim team for all four years. She graduated from ECU with a BA in Communications and a minor in Sports Studies. Now Coach Katie has returned to the Sachem Swim Club, where he swimming career began over 20 years ago. She has been back coaching with us for over 4 years and is in charge of the Junior group. In 2010 Katie graduated from Dowling with her Masters in Childhood and Special Education. This past season Katie was the Head Swim coach of the Sachem East Varsity Swimming & Diving team. She is looking forward to a long and successful career with the Sachem Swim Club.

 Samantha Buckley was a member of the Sachem Swim Club for fourteen years. During her time on the team Sam qualified for JO’s, Senior Mets and Zones. Sam was also a member of the Sachem Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving team for five year, she was team captain her Junior and Senior year. Sam attended SUNY Cortland and studied Childhood Education, she was a member of the Cortland Swimming and Diving Team where she holds two school records in the 1000 free-style and the 800 free-style relay and was team captain her senior year. Sam began coaching for the Sachem Swim Club in 2010 and is working with the Junior group. She is looking forward to a long and successful career with the Sachem Swim Club and hanging out with the Junior Team :)
