Liberty Belles Tournament Champions
Our Team won their 3rd Championship in 4 years. Last years game was lost in a shoot-out to Ewing Eclipse. Winning all four games by shut-out. The only goal in the championship game against a tough King of Prussia team( including ex-Wissgirl Sara Dugan)was scored in the 39th minute by Nicole Gowens on a perfect through pass by Samantha Rossi. Pictures will be posted soon in the "Albums" section.
PDR Division "A" 2001 Champions
After going 4-3-3 in the regular season. We beat the Division champions Holy Terrors in the play-offs and beat a tough IHM team for the championship. After a full 60 minute game plus two 10 min. overtimes, we won the shoot-out 3-2.
A terrific accomplishment considering we lost and tied both teams in regular season play and haven't won a game against the Holy Terrors in our 4 years as a team.
2002 Champions
Congratulations!!
Congratulations go out to Linsey, Kristine, Erin & Jessica for making IGSL Select. Only 4 Wissgirls went out for the team & all 4 made it. Your parents, teammates, and especially your Coach, are very proud of you !!
2002 Liberty Belles Tourn.
For the first time in 5 years The girls walked away without a trophy. We definetly played in the highest skill bracket & held our own against some great teams from Long Island (Wantaugh Seaford, Lancaster (Manheim) & Pittsburgh (Mount Lebanon). We had some great chances against all of them. The experience will be very valuable in the second half of our season!
2002 IGSL & Phila. Dept. Of Rec. Champions !!
The Wissgirls finished an excellent season going 16-1-3 in both leagues and winning both "A" division championships. Their only loss was 1-0 to Holy Terrors. The girls met & exceeded the goals set to them before the season. To improve their U-11 record (8-7-3) and not lose by more than one goal. As your coach I was very proud. You're great players and even better people. In the end, thats the most important part. Congratulations Wissgirls !! You truly do "KICK BUTT" !!
Cinnaminson Thanksgiving Tournament
In our 2nd year in a row participating in blustery Cinnaminson Thanksgiving tournament the Wissgirls walk away with runner-up trophy.
Ridley Tournament
This, our third year at the Ridley Tournament, we ran into some really competative teams got to revisit our old friends with their tough King of Prussia team for the 1st time after last years Liberty Belles tournament.
Thanksgiving in Cinnaminson
This year the Wissgirls decided to take a shot at spending Thanksgiving weekend in Cinnaminson, rather than at the river. It was good to see other teams rather than the same teams we see all throughout the year in league play. The competition was tough. We will be back next year.
Southampton Tournament
The Wissgirls were triumphant!! We defeated Southampton ( Div. 2) 1-0 and Deep Run (Div. 1)5-0. We tied Warrington ( Div. 1)0-0 in an excellent and exciting game with both teams getting scoring chances only to be denied. We won the tournament in a tie breaker with Warrington with more goals scored and no goals allowed. We also received kudos from our opposing coach's and spectators for our organized defense, dynamic offense, and our over-all good solid play. I was very proud to be your coach. You should all be proud of yourselves!!
FC Phila. Spring League Champions
The Wissgirls put another notch in their belt winning the Spring league championship 3-1 over Lighthouse. After going though the season undefeated they played a stacked Lighthouse team made up of Holy Terrors & Cohox's best players and even the day after they played a 4 game tournament the day before. Even though some were injured, dehydrated & sunburned they showed how much heart it takes to be a winner.
Whitewater Classic Tournament
Talk about a boatload of fun!!
Saturday, our girls and their families spent the day in wet suits, in (and occasionally out) of rafts on the Lehigh River.
Sunday, they stepped up as the only U12 team in a U12/13 division. They played the Twisters from Rockville Ctr., NY, the Cyclones from Newark, DE and the Lightning from Mountain Top, PA.
Wissgirls are 3 time City Champions!!!
Our girls won their 3rd City Champonship in a row. Capping off an undefeated season with a championship win over Torresdale 7-2. After Torresdale scored in the opening minute of the game. Wiss came back with 5 unanswered goals. Ending the half at 4-1 & scoring 3 more in the second half. Torresdale scored their second goal to get to 5-2 but after holding back all seaon Wiss came up with two more. Congratulations girls !! City U-13 "A" Division Champions !!
Inter-County
So far we are holding our own even though we missed some golden opportunities to win our games. With a little help and by winning our final two games we can finish in first place in Div. 2 play. 7-2-3 in our first year is an excellent accomplishment. But with so many missed shots and momentary lapses on defense, we could have been the clear winner. Our remaining games are against Whitpain & Chestnut Hill.
Liberty Belles Columbus Day Tournament
The girls played up in the U-14 division of the tournament. In the 1st game vs. Washington Township, we had to finish the game shorthanded in order to get enough players to our ICSL league game on time, resulting in a 4-0 loss. The girls also played Foothills SC Phantoms and York United, both well played games against tough teams resulting in a 3-0 loss.
Steven Lamont Thanksgiving Tournament (Cinnaminson)
Wissgirls win two against Vorhees, NJ (2-0) and Westville NJ (3-1), but let one slip be in the (0-1) game vs. PSC Premier coming up with the runner-up trophy for the 2nd year in a row.
Colleen Reilly Girls Invitational
After a 1-0 loss to Horsham Jaguars, Wissgirls start to buckle down and tie Cocalico in a 2-2 game. Sunday, the girls perform beautifully against Hulmeville Flash to win in a 1-0 game. Unfortunately, they were spent in the following game against Pheonix Flames and came away with a tie.
2003 -2004 Wissgirls
Coach Scott in his last run with the Wissgirls team. Congradulations on mentoring a well adjusted bunch of over-achievers. Good luck with your little up-and-comers.
Inter- County
After not completing our season we went 7-2-4. If we had played we could have won our Division or at least placed second and recieved an automatic bid to the First Div. Our ties killed us in the end.
