Ryle Raiders Baseball: vs.

Covington Catholic 7, Ryle 6

The Raiders took on the Covington Catholic Colonels in their second game of the Scott Knochelman Memorial Tournament. The boys from Union twice battled back after being down 1-0 and 4-2 to take leads of their own. But the Colonels scored twice in the 6th inning to tie the game at 6-6, and then pushed across the decisive run in the home half of the 7th for a 7-6 walk off victory over the Raiders. The Raiders just barely missed out on remaining unbeaten, as the final 3 CovCath runs were all scored with two outs. On the mound, Justin Hoard started for the Raiders and went 5-1/3 innings (3 ER), leaving with a 6-4 lead.

Offensively, the Raiders made the most out of their 7 hits by plating 6 runs. Seniors Tyler Lonnemann (SS), Thomas Baumann (CF) and Jake Ashley (C) led the way with two hits a piece.
