Ryle Raiders Baseball: vs.

Ryle 7, Cooper 2

In the opening game of the Scott Knochelman Memorial Tournament, the Cooper Jaguars visited the Ryle Raiders. While many of their classmates were leaving for Spring Break on this Friday, it also appeared as though the Raiders bats also left for Spring Break. However, the Raiders made the most of their 4 hits and some Cooper defensive miscues, and rang up a 7-2 win to remain unbeaten.

Senior CF Thomas Baumann keyed a 2-run first inning with an RBI triple and scored on senior DH Tyler Mason's single. Baumann's triple made him the all-time career leaders in triples at Ryle. Senior third baseman Dylan Plvan scrapped to get on base via an error and a walk, and scored two runs for the game. And senior first baseman Jake Raines made the most of his opportunities by knocking in 2 runs, with a single and a sacrifice fly.

On the mound, Mitchell See and Mac Welsh teamed up to limit the Jaguars to two runs. The senior See went 5 innings and earned his first win of the season. The junior Welsh pitched the final two innings, shutting out the Jaguars while striking out 3 Jaguar batters.
